Hello there.
I hope everyone out there is enjoying life and doing well.
I'll spare the obligatory "I've been gone for awhile and I'll try to blog more" stuff. I will instead not say it but cleverly get my idea across anyway. I mean, my last blog was "Happy Thanksgiving". Sheesh.
How the heck is everyone? I must admit; it's been way too long since I've even been on the boards. I actually forgot my SW.com password for some time. All is good now, but unfortunately for me and fortunate for you (some would say), my presence on the boards will still be scattered. Work is just that busy now and I don't see it slowing down.
I recently delved into something I've been saving up for years to do. It's the second to last piece of my home theater setup. I already had the surround sound, had the great DVD player, but I didn't have the biggie. The HDTV.
Well, I'm there now. About a week and a half ago, I had delivered a 42-inch plasma HD. After years of research, I feel I got a great deal and have been absolutely thrilled at the results. The TV is awesome. I have a pretty small living room and the 42 inches seems huge and wonderful. The TV has very bright distinct colors and looks very crisp. It looks great on regular TV too and I don't have an HD feed (yet that is, last step is getting HD programming). DVD's look fantastic. I had a friend that I showed just the opening of ROTS to and he said "Man, its better than being in the theater". Yep, I was beaming. I couldn't get my soon to be 4 year old padawan's reaction for awhile. Finally when were about to watch one of his movies as it was coming up he looked at me with a big grin on his face and said "This is going to be cool." Yep buddy, it sure is.
I'm not saying all this to brag (okay, maybe a little but I worked darn hard for the bonus that got me this opportunity). This weekend coming up; I'm officially breaking in the TV. That's right, I'll be watching SW 1-6 starting on Friday night. I'll probably do 1 or 2 on Friday and the rest on Saturday.
The surround sound will be blazing and the images amazing. I purposefully haven't watched any of the movies in sometime. I actually feel like a little kid awaiting the release of the movies. Yeah, I know it's not the same, but its darn close.
I feel like I'll be watching them the way they were meant to be: Big, visually brilliant, and sound shaking the windows.
I hope to be posting a pic of myself watching the marathon at some point in the future. I wish I could say near future, but you know how it is with me lately.
In other news, I got my new Insider and was again disappointed in the information given in there. Don't get me wrong, I love the magazine, but where is the info on the upcoming TV shows? It seems like we get nothing in there. I mean, we had yet another write up on building Utapau. Cool, but I've seen the DVD of it already. Maybe I'm just being too critical. Maybe the new ownership will bring about some neat changes.
That is all for now everyone. I hope everyone has an enjoyable Valentine's Day.
Happy blogging and keep the peace my friends.
