Wow. I can't believe my time has come up. After a couple of years of being a hyperspace member, it's about to come to an end. I'm about to turn black.
Most of you reading this will not consider this a big loss. Who the heck is this purple guy and what is he doing taking up space on my website?
Back in the old days for me, I was publishing frequently and may again someday. I really miss writing and connecting with my friends here. For those that are new to the site or even new to blogging here, you will have the opportunity for some wonderful friendships. I mean that. Not just "Hey we both like SW, cool!" kind of friendships. No, I'm talking about friendships that will last a lifetime. You know who you are out there.
I've recently gone through quite a bit in my life. My intention back in August was to make time everyday to come and check out old friend's blog entries and get myself back to the community and people I love here. As my old friend Kenobi-fan would say, life happened. My father became very ill and required extended medical care. He leaves a state away, so I was taking a lot of weekends to visit and every night on the phone. It was tough. My Dad was finally getting better and was about to be sent home. He commented to me on the night before he died, that he had no pain and was so excited to get home. He never made it as he through a clot and died instantly the next day.
You never know how you will deal with a tragedy like this. I have good days and bad days. A friend on this site once called me "the most reflective person I know". That is me for sure. Although, it's only been a few weeks, I've decided I really need to concentrate on the good that is out there in my life.
One of those things is the friends I've made here over the past couple of years. Thank you all. You have made me laugh and even cry. Most of all, you've been there. That means more than anything.
I don't want this to be a depressing blog entry. It isn't. Not for me anyway. I will thank you in advance for the well wishes with my dad (for those kind enough to comment). I really do appreciate it.
This entry is more about this wonderful community on the site. For those that are newer, you will get what you put into it. If you just want to post cool links and talk SW, you can do that. If you want to talk about life and how it relates to SW and see how other people deal with those same situations, you can do that. Just look out, life long friendships will develop.
Anyway, thank you all and keep the blogging going. I hope someday to have it worked out where I can blog more often. I say that all the time, but you know, this writing thing is really therapeutic and feels great. It helps me keep in touch with all of you.
I will be around commenting on your stuff. You'll just have to imagine the purple dinosaur soon. Ha!
Happy blogging and keep the peace my friends.
