VOTE for Matt's ART to be on a STAR WARS T-Shirt!
Season's Greetings!

StarWars.com has just released 5 new T-Shirt designs that folks can vote on for the official STAR WARS Hyperspace shirt of 2008! One of the 5 was done by yours truly, and features a sweet vintage toy from back in the day. You can see all 5 and VOTE here:

For my entry- I wanted to go with something that hasn't been done before on a shirt, or even a poster, for that matter... So here's what I came up with...

The Imperial Troop Transporter was one of the coolest toys growing up! It was one of the first toys that wasn't in the movie- which really helped a kid like me expand my creative vision of the STAR WARS universe.

However, it was a little strange that the vehicle came with these two black contraptions that apparently brainwashed victims when put on their head... This bondage device looks more like a sci-fi SAW contraption! Looking back, the box cover was even more surreal, which showed Princess Leia surrounded by troops and forced to wear this S&M thing on her face!

I don't know why it cracks me up- not very Star Wars-like, but still great memories playing with this as a kid. So I've had it in my head for years that this image would be hysterical to paint and try to bring to life.

And in honor of the 501st and all they do for events, parades, charities, and fandom in general, I thought it would be a hoot to present them with a PARTY BUS. They deserve it!

Please VOTE now!

Also- you do NOT have to be a registered HyperSpace Member to vote! It just takes a sec... :) Even if not for my design, you should still vote! There's some great competition!

Thanks again for your support! :)

The troop transport was one of my original star wars toys....I loved the sound effects even if the origin of the actual vehicle was a mystery to me.

My best pal had (still has, boxed) the Troop Transporter and it was always one of the best toys out there, so from a childhood memories POV I voted for that one.
Cool, just checked it out again and of course it's yours, can't believe I didn't twig that!!
