this is shaggy fett comin at ya on WBRX, the sounnnddd. no, i didn't become a radio dj, but that is a good idea. however, i do have a few unanswered ponderances on our common love, the star wars movies.
now, as you probably know, i do a lot of sitting around and thinking. i don't really focus on one thing at a time, i just...think. and in one of my thinking sessions, star wars came up, as it usually does. i got to wandering, who owns the millineum falcon when we see it pop in for a cameo in episode 3?
also, did anyone else make the connection, accidental or not, between the senate entrace and the mines of moria in the first lord of the rings? let me tell you what i'm talking about. when we see anakin get off the shuttle from his big heroic mission, a handful of senators greet him. during this scene, we see huuuuuggeee pillars extending as far as the eye can see and too tall for the ceiling to be in picture for part of the shot.
now take out that dvd, put in fellowship of the ring, and fast forward. aaaand some more. actually it might have been better to go to the scenes section. anyway, go to the part where the fellowship is about to be attacked by the big firey monster thing (belrog is it called?). take note of where they are. huuuuggeee pillars as far as the eye can see, and too tall for the ceiling to be in picture for part of the shot. i just found this sort of interesting. two completely different movies, with completely different storylines, in completely different imaginary worlds, but they both seemed to come up with essentially the same setting. one's just underground and abandoned, is all.
one other question. did it bother anyone else when obi wan does his peace attack, as i like to call it? 'what are you talking about shaggy? what in the world is the peace attack?' well my friends, let me explain.
take out fellowship and put back in rots. i know, tons of work. too bad. go to the scenes section (we learned from our earlier fast forwarding mistake, eh?) and find the part where good ol' obi wan is about to open a can of destruction on general greivous. he hops down, says his witty line 'hello there' and then waits for the general to take notice. well he does and he sends his magnaguards for the first wave. then obi wan does this real goofy pose. he swings his lightsaber around in one hand, then sticks his other hand up close his face, makes a peace sign, and points it at the attacking droids. then, he drops this pose, and drops an anvil on em, wild e. coyote style. there was absolutely no point for that first 'get ready pose'
then he does it again as greivous is about to attack him. then he just drops it again, because he gets thrown off my the general's spinning lightsaber thing. i don't see the point in this 'peace attack'. it doesn't set him up for anything, it looks goofy, and he just drops out of it anyway.
oh, plus it messes up his hair, and who wants that?
i figure you have enough to bite off and chew for a while, so i'm gonna go and eat some cake, so i can have something to chew. nice, good, chocolate birthday cake.
because it was my birthday recently. yay for shaggy.
