The Emotional Galaxy

And It's OUTTA HERE!!!
It's no secret that I live in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA , area, so it shouldn't come as any surprise that one of my offspring (I have five) was at Major League Baseball's Homerun Derby tonight. My only son just had the opportunity to see Ryan Howard crush the ball into baseball history (and the Allegheny River) by winning the event. If you were watching, he was in standing room only on the rotunda in left field...where most of Miguel Cabrera's homeruns went. He text messaged me several times..."Did you see that one, mom?"

Pittsburgh is a wonderful place to be with the All-Star Game and its related events in town. Two of my daughters spent the day downtown today as well, just to be part of the atmosphere. It's a magic thing, that sense of belonging, that sense of team that permeates larger-than-life events like this.

(A little aside...for Rex and K-fan...there's a guy waving a Terrible Towel behind Chris Berman's head as I type. WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!......)

That could be us in those stands...all of us...yelling and cheering...some for Anakin...some for Yoda...some for Padme or Obi-wan. But we'd all be cheering for Star Wars, high-fiving some drunk guy in front of us as Obi-wan polishes off General Grievous or Anakin/Darth Vader hurls Sidious into oblivion. Can't you just hear the Wookiee calls? The thunderous applause!

That's all. Nothing deep or emotional tonight. Just e-high five's for all of you, my Star Wars teammates.
