I'm watching the rest Attack of the Clones with my youngest this lovely AM as two restoration contractors wake the dead upstairs in my bathroom. Little #5 and I started to watch AOTC last night. When I made her go to bed before the movie was over, I told my tearful little girl that she could finish watching it this AM as soon as she got up. She didn't let me down...and Dooku is escaping the hangar on Geonosis as I type.

SO many things go through my head as I watch this film, ever mindful of the ideas that come up on these blogs daily...

~Dooku lies so easily, yet I really want to believe him when he goes to the captured Obi-wan on Geonosis and tells him the truth about what's going on in the Senate. I mean, we know it IS the truth...but I want to believe that Dooku's intentions are "good" as he talks. Yet how can he truly want to defeat Sidious with Obi-wan when Dooku lies SO MUCH??

~And what of Qui-Gon? His spirit is hanging around, as we know from the fact that he calls out through the Force when Anakin slaughters the sand people. He was Dooku's padawan, right? Couldn't he reach out to Dooku through the Force?? I'm not sure why, but I really wanted Dooku to do the right thing, and I wanted Obi-wan to believe him.

~Why does the viceroy hate Padme so much? Yeah, she defeated him in TPM and all, but ten years have passed since then, and he's had people trying to take him out for all that time. Four times he was tried and exhonorated in some way during those years. She's not the only obstacle to achieving his own goals. Why the hate?

~Why didn't Dooku sense Mace Windu's presence behind him as the cool-as-he-ever-gets Windu approaches behind him on Geonosis?

~What part did the Geonosians play in building the Death Star? Or were they just the keepers of the plans at that point?

~Why IS Obi-wan so nasty to Anakin at the beginning of AOTC? Nag, nag, nag! No wonder Anakin is irritable! (Do NOT tell my teenagers that I'm seeing Anakin's side here!)

~ CLEARLY Obi-wan knows what's going on in Anakin's head regarding Padme from the very first time we see them on the elevator up to Padme's apartment on Coruscant. Yet he smiles and acts cool about it. WHY? WHY? WHY?

~ Here's a question I haven't seen addressed before around here. We know where the clone army came from, regardless of the still somewhat questionable situation regarding its creation. But where did the Republic get the weaponry/vehicles, etc. for the clones? They needed ships...all the "toys" of war. Did that come in the package deal with the Kaminoans?

~Dooku does NOT look happy to have "taken care of" OB1 and Anakin in the hangar on Geonosis, and he is arrogant yet not angry at Mace, but he seems to HATE Yoda. Is it because Yoda was Dooku's Master?

~I'll never stop loving the love between Anakin and Padme. Never. Ever. Is it just a "girl thing" to want to be part of a love like that...so passionate and reckless...dangerous even?

OK...They're married and #5 wants to move on to ROTS. Time to post these ramblings...
