Living A Lie and Other False Assumptions
I thought about calling this entry "Blogservations 2, The Sequel," but I'm not sure that I have enough material to match that rambling missive from July. Perhaps I'll change the title before I'm finished...

First things first. After several weeks with no Star Wars movie viewings, my padawan and I have watched both ROTS (thank you, DarthRex0...good idea) and AOTC in recent days. The whole "we'd be living a lie" thing between Anakin and Padme has always bothered me, but I don't think I figured out why until today. I was in Starbucks, actually, and it just...came to me. Something about chai tea latte just gets my creative juices flowing...or not...

Anyway...what part of what Anakin and Padme's life together is a lie? Or what part isn't? They declared their love and got married, hiding the marriage from everyone and carrying on with their lives as before. Big time lie. But would their lives have been any less of a lie if they had left their feelings undeclared, their love unrequited, their passion unconsummated? Would the feelings they had for each other be any less of a lie if they hadn't shared them with each other? They'd each still be living a lie, loving the other but unable to express it in ANY way, and that could have been just as devastating. Denying one's feelings isn't healthy. Ask anyone.

If Anakin and Padme had lived that lie, had never declared their love at all, the GFFA would not have had Luke and Leia.

I know, I know. It's GL's story and that's the way it went down and speculation long the lines I suggest is fiction on top of fiction (jkthunder has taught me well!). No matter how their relationship went down, they were "forced to live a lie." It bugs me, though. The real lie would have been to not be honest about their feelings.

In other news...I wonder how the GFFA'ers celebrated holidays? Beyond ROTJ, did they eventually celebrate an Anakin Skywalker/Balanced Force Day? Was it a sacred or secular holiday?

I looked at the Word file last night where I jot down blog ideas from time to time, and I realized that at least 4 out of 5 of my ideas are crap. So I ask you writers out there, is that good? Too much? Typical?

Now addicted to Firefly and trying to find time for the movie, Serenity, I am WAY ticked off that there are only 14 episodes. Last week, I found myself tying a jacket low around my waist and pretending it was a weapons holster...kinda like Zoey would wear...

I'm going to meet MomOf2YoungPadawan next weekend, and I can't wait! I won't be a Star Wars IRL virgin anymore.

So many of us have had tough times lately. (((HUGE HUGS))) to everyone, and here's to hoping everything gets better...soon!

How long will it take for jkelly to diss my use of "passion" in this entry? The timer..starts......NOW!...

How far does Oboe-wan live from Los Angeles?

Did EvilDarthBear have his Senator for a Day, day yet?

Is cbern devastated about Tiki Barber's upcoming retirement?

darthgenious7 popped in and then popped right back out again, and he never emailed me. What's up with THAT?

If I start working on Christmas cards right now, is there a chance that I'll actually mail them before December 23rd?

Cats are only capable of puking up hairballs on clean parts of the carpet. Can't they just puke on the red Powerade stain?

What happened to DevlenPiett?? And Qui-Tom Servo?

K-fan has been the comment king lately. Nice!

I love new blogger brooklooineghost's blog. Gotta love a girl who finds a way to fit "Tatooine" into her screen name! :D

Don't nob01 and pidluk just make the cutest couple?

Too bad nob01 wasn't the designer for Queen Amidala's wardrobe. Somehow I think those paper doll clothes would have been easier to change into.

Do you think I can get hansgirl to design a pair of shoes for me? I'll pay for 'em...honest...I will...

Stooge. Need I say more?

High fives to Rogueish...just 'cause he's cool.

Hey FAN4YRS????! Are you finished with your movie reviews?? I think I was pretty busy when you were doing those...guess I can go back and read them, huh? I never read the one on The Birds.

I go through streaks where I don't get to read many blogs at all. Bums me right out. There are so many blogs here that are fun to read...wish I had more time in the day!

...and on that note...must get on with my Saturday....
