What The Moff?
What a strange word "moff" is, as many are in George Lucas' GFFA! It wasn't until I joined our little SW nation here that I was able to verify that "moff" is, indeed, a title, and not some figment of my imagination from my teen years. I mean, what the moff does "moff" even mean? The only definition I can find for the word, moff, is this: n. A thin silk stuff made in Caucasia. Is "Causasia" even a real moffing place? Wikipedia tells me that it is, "a general geographic area in an undefined location between Europe and Asia," but that explanation is rather full of moff. I've concluded that GL must have meant the character, Grand Moff Tarkin, to be a caricature of every evil, pointed, nasty moffing politician he'd ever encountered.

Scary moffing thought! Who'd want to moff with the Moff? Worse yet, the Grand Moff? It appeared that only Princess Leia could be so moffing bold...and her moffing father, of course. Can you imagine if GL had switched the words in the GFFA he'd created, switched "Moff" and "Darth," for example? Somehow Grand Darth Tarkin loses its Darkness and Moff Maul? I won't even moffing go there.

Most of the strange names for characters we encounter are actual names and not moffed up titles. Scroll through the database and there's moffing freakish names everywhere, but the title of "Moff" stands out. You can moffing admit it! It's a moffed up thing to call a high-ranking official! A moffing insult!

Personally, I'd like to moff my way through life, not a care in the world, the way it should be. None of this moffing, official political bullmoff! Call a moff a moff...and the way I see it, moffing has absolutely nothing to do with politics.

Moff out.
