STAR WARS OUTSIDER :: Coming soon....
It's been in the works for a while now, and we're finally ready to reveal STAR WARS OUTSIDER, a new fan-produced, Expanded Universe PDF-magazine.

The idea is to bring well-known fans in the community together to create an entertaining magazine that is sure to please fans that are always craving more Star Wars material.

It's totally unofficial and unauthorized; we are in no way connected with Lucasfilm. All new Expanded Universe material presented in OUTSIDER obviously does not count toward continuity, but at the same time will not conflict with already established canon.

ISSUE 1 will be available for download soon. Check out www.starwarsoutsider.com for a sneak peek at the exclusive original cover art by artist Zack Giallongo.

Inside the upcoming first issue you'll find contributions by well-known fans such as:

Greg Mitchell a.k.a. Hedec Ga
Author of the Dusty Duck and co-author of Silya Shessaun Databank entries

Mark Newbold a.k.a. janlomona
Founder of Lightsabre.co.uk
Contributor to Star Wars Insider #90

Bob Vitas a.k.a. Bubba1227
Founder of the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia
Named the Hamadryas species in the Databank
Is the namesake for the character Vob Bitas

Kyle Hartshorn a.k.a. Rogue_Follower
Moderator at TheForce.net's Jedi Council Literature Forums

Tim Veekhoven a.k.a. Sompeetalay
Founder of TeeKay-421 - The Belgian Star Wars Fan Club
Author of the Swilla Corey, Tzizvvt and Wam Lufba Databank entries

Billy Buehler a.k.a. The2ndQuest
Moderator at TheForce.net's Jedi Council Literature Forums
Author of the Corla Metonae and co-author of UT-AT and Olana Chion Databank entries

Arthur Papadam a.k.a. Arf Maul
Author of Bal'demnic and co-author of Leektar Databank entries
Administrator at Wookieepedia

Plus there will be several other smaller features that will be sure to tickle every fan's fancy ;) Check this blog again soon for future updates that will reveal more details of the features appearing in Issue 1.

And a HUGE thanks to all the above contributors for making this project possible. Everyone has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Cheers! :)

I love the cover art!
Thanks! Zack is a fantastic artist.

How much is it to join
This magazine is FREE. Contributions are by invitation only, but I'm willing to make an exception if someone pitches a really good idea. I already have a list of fans and features in mind for Issue 2.

are the issues hard copy or over the internet?
Issues will be available for download in PDF format only - it's the cheapest way for me to produce the magazine. You can print a copy for yourself if you like.

Thanks for your questions and interest, FAN4YRS :) Cheers!

PDF...I hate...a certain non-Word, non-Microsoft kind of computer...oh, well, I'll go the the library. Maybe I'll pitch a contribution idea. The worst you can do is pitch it back.

Hi Arf,

It definitely sounds like an exciting venture. Since it's "by invitation only" I don't want to sound like i'm fishing but if you did need more people I'd be interested in helping you out depending on what you needed. :)

There's no harm in fishing. :) But since you're both a What's The Story? winner and a mod, let's just say you're definitely on my radar ;)

Alright, I just downloaded and "thumbed through" Issue #1--looks great! I can't wait to get into the meat of this thing!

...I don't know how far along you are in the development of Issue #2, but if I could in any way contribute to this fine-looking publication, don't hesitate to contact me!

One area that you didn't include in this issue in addition to the ones mentioned in the editorial is comics, if you are interested you may want to get in contact with the guys over at Star Wars Fandom Comics ( http://fandom.swnsu.com/ ).

I hope not, since I got recruited for Volume 2 and spent several weeks perfecting a 12-page short story for it.
