STAR WARS OUTSIDER #1 :: Now online!
Without further fanfare, here it finally is... the first issue of STAR WARS OUTSIDER!

DOWNLOAD IT HERE!

Outsider is a PDF magazine featuring the Expanded Universe contributions from the movers and shakers within the fan community. You might want to read this blog for some background info. But basically, if you're craving Expanded Universe material, then you should enjoy this. :)

Some of you have already downloaded it; it has been online since 23 May. I literally uploaded it 5 minutes before I left my house for Sydney airport, to fly out to Los Angeles, Celebration IV. Thus, I didn't get a chance to alert anyone that it was online. I apologize for that. It's been surprisingly difficult to find internet access without a laptop. I'm writing this blog from a hotel in New York.

Just wanted to send a HUGE thanks to all the contributors, and to all the fans who have supported the project. Cheers!!!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it, and with the feedback I've received so far, there'll definitely be at least one more issue released by the year's end.

Next issue will contain a section on Celebration IV, so if you have any really cool photos from the event that you'd like to see in Outsider, please send them to starwarsoutsider@hotmail.com.

Peace from NY!

Arthur.

Must be the last person to be talking about it, Arf. :)

PS At the very least, the photo of the Wookieepedians and Abel needs to be in Outsider.

FINALLY! Vob Bitas is a real character image! Not to mention, my wife has an image, too! Thanks again to you and T.J. Colligan for the graphics, and to the Outsider for publishing the true story of Vob Bitas!

Oh yeah...

FINALLY! I got to meet you at C4! Check this out, if the rest of you need proof...!

Hope the rest of your whirlwind tour of the planet is/has been fun. I'm jealous, although my wife and I are talking about heading Down Under next year. It will be our 20th anniversary, so we might look you up!

Hey, Arf, just wanted to say thanks again for asking me to contribute to the Outsider! It was a great time and I even wrote a little blog about to help spread the word.

The issue looks really sharp! And my boy TJ Colligan's art looks great in the Vob Bitas story! Great job! Can't wait for my schedule to slow down a bit so I can take my time and actually read the thing carefully!

Congrats to all of us ;) And of course especially to Arf. As editor of TeeKay-421's Magazine, I know editing a magazine can take an awful lot of time. Cheers mate !.

Impressive job, all of you--what really strikes me about this issue is just how professional it seems. I guess I was expecting a lot more white backgrounds and pages full of text. The art just blew me away! You found some awesome artists, Arf. And the story ideas were great ones, and well-executed. Good work.

And I had no idea the name "Star Wars Outsider" had been used before. It was good thinking to have that article in issue #1.

As far as constructive criticism goes, my one request is that you somehow separate the fanfic from the canon. Running the Gladiator Roster alongside Imperial Holovision, and followed a little ways away by "Who's Who of the Setnin Sector" could maybe use a little more clarity, whether by means of an intro paragraph explaining the canoninity of each piece, or maybe symbols classifying articles as "Canon," "Fanon," or "Real World," for instance. But this is a minor complaint, and one any careful reader can handle on his own, anyway. Again, great work!

Looks great, man! I've only read a little bit of it so far, but I'm looking forward to the rest.

Great meeting you and hanging out at CIV too! What were you doing in New York on June 2??

PS At the very least, the photo of the Wookieepedians and Abel needs to be in Outsider.

You mean that picture of the Wookieepedians, Abel, and *cough* two random other dudes? :D I mean, I guess I might have edited something on Wookieepedia once or something....I doubt my brother has though. ;)

Wow! It's massive! Almost 50 pages of pure fan-passion. That's absolutely great. I love the artwork - and specifically the more humorous bits like the Crimson Jack ad. It was well worth the wait. Thanks to you guys - especially Art the Editornator - for this great piece of work.
