This Weapon is Your Life
Recently, I was playing through KOTOR II: The Sith Lords again when I got to the point of opening Freedon Nadd's sarcophagus. When I discovered Freedon Nadd's lightsaber was inside, I was in awe. That was Freedon Nadd's lightsaber! Although he was Sith and evil, that was Freedon Nadd's lightsaber. I was unfortunate to have given it to Kriea and she took it when she left. I was really disappointed when I lost it because it was Freedon Nadd's lightsaber!

Does anyone else sit during ROTS and jump when Mace Windu and Palpatine's lightsabers go flying out the window? The first time I saw it i thought, "what happens to the lightsaber?!" I did this later with Yoda's when he was fighting Palpatine.

I view lightsabers not only as great weapons, but also, for a lack of a better phrase, "historical artifacts". Out of the people I know, I'm the only one who thinks "that was Freedon Nadd's lightsaber".

I really did this a lot when I was reading the New Jedi Order. What happens to Anakin Solo's lightsaber? If you've read the series, you would know what makes his lightsaber important (and it's not because it's Anakin Solo's lightsaber). That blade switched hands many times in the series and I always became alert when, for example, Supreme Overlord Shimmra pulls out a silvery handle, pushes a button, and a purple blade comes to life. I thought that was great. Anakin's lightsaber hasn't gone missing. In the end, it is placed inside a tree on Kashyyyk.

I wonder what it would be like if, lets say, Luke Skywalker or one of his students found Exar Kun's lightsaber. First, that would be awesome! Second, it most likely wouldn't work because of the millenia it has been gone. Third, what would Luke or the Jedi student do with it? If I was to find it, I would hold the thing dear and never let it go. Does anyone know what makes that lightsaber important and/or unique (for Star Wars history that is)?

I was wondering if anyone else does this. If you do, is there a certain lightsaber you've been fascinated with or would like to get your hands on? Mine would be Anakin Solo's lightsaber. Feel free to comment if you want B-)

old ben's. just classic. boring maybe, but I love that duel with vader. his lightsaber would be awsome! it's got so much history because he never lost it. his weapon was his life. so he stuck with the same saber all the way through. That's amazing!

I agree with you, anakinattack. Old Ben's, the lightsaber that looks like a small showerhead.

I would like to have Mace Windu's lightsaber. It is very unique and one of the most famous purple lightsabers. Not to mention how great a Jedi Mace was.

Anakin Skywalkers, the one which I believe has the most history to it in all the series. It was the blade he constructed when he became a Jedi Knight. The blade which followed him through the end of the clone wars, destroying hundreds of battle droids. The blade which killed Count Dooku and continued Anakin's path to the darkside. The blade which took off Mace Windu's arm and began Anakin's training in the darkside. The blade which Anakin used to eliminate hundreds of Jedi in the temple. The blade which Anakin fought so fiercely with against his old master which was taken by Obi-Wan after the battle on Mustafar.

(Cont) The blade which was given to Luke because "...your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn't allow it. He was afraid you'd follow old Obi-Wan on some damn fool idealistic crusade, like your father did." The blade which young Luke used to lob the arm off the wampa and cut the bottom from the ATAT on Hoth. The blade which Luke used to fight the very man who created it not for evil this time but for good. The blade which was retrieved by the Imperials and given to Luke's clone. The blade which was passed on to Luke's wife Mara Jade as a token of his trust in her and her sensitivity to Force training....I can go on for a while...:D

I wonder if the lightsaber Anakin Skywalker has in Episode II is the same as the one in Epidsode III? After all, the lightsaber in Episode II gets broken before the line "Oh no, not again. Obi-Wan is going to kill me."

I agree though that Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber has gone around making it one of the most historic.

definitely Mace Windu's...one of my pet theories is that he survived that fall...I mean, come on, all the Jedi knew how to levitate. He could have been injured in the fall...or, say, his spirit at least is someplace where a Jedi can contact him...that would be a good way for Luke to learn about the dark side's evil, he seems to havve forgotten that, and the master of Vaapad would certainly help him out with that.
Oh yeah, and on the subject of Anakin's lightsaber, it has now been wielded in battle by Han Solo, which is the coolest thing ever, not to mention by the most awesome Ewok ever, TARFANG! (although from the way it sounded, the lightsaber was wielding tarfang...)
