Exploring the Expanding Universe of Star Wars

Which Point of View to View?
With the Star Wars saga completed, one has to ask one's self which order should I show the saga in I, II, III, IV, V, VI or IV, V, VI, I, II, III? Which order would get the greatest experience out of Star Wars for the first time?

I was not around in 1977, 1980, or 1983, so I never saw the original trilogy in theaters until Special Edition. Before Special Edition, a relative showed me the original trilogy, and I have been a great fan ever since. When the prequel trilogy came out, I was all ready and really enjoyed each one. However, when I have children, should I show the movie in chronological order or the order they were created in?

The best way to experience the movies may be the way I saw them. The original story follows the ancient hero tale and is great with all its twists and turns (I am your father) and isn't that "big". When experiencing the prequels, the galaxy seems to open up greatly, dwarfing the original trilogy, mainly by the visual effects and locations of events.

Currently, on the date I wrote this, the poll that asks close to the same question that I'm addressing currently has 60% for I-VI and 40% for IV-VI then I-III. I don't fully agree with this for future generations because it may take away from the originals. It may take away because of the "size" the prequels present and then how "small" the originals are. Most likely, I am far wrong with this theory.

However, when Revenge of the Sith is released November 1, 2005 on DVD, I plan to watch all the movies chronologically, Episode I to Episode VI. But when it comes to seeing the saga the first time through, I think it would be best to see them the way George presented them to us all in this galaxy.
