Have they already changed the "UNALTERED VERSION" announcement?
Am I losing my mind?
I believe in yesterday's announcement, that it was stated that we would see STAR WARS in it's original version, without the "EPISODE IV A NEW HOPE" in the opening crawl.
When I read this I was a bit intrigued. They have never released a home video version without the Episode number and title. Even in the 1995 "one last time" version, it was there. So I thought to myself "WOW! They really are giving (selling) us the ORIGINAL UNALTERED THEATRICAL VERSION."
So here it is a day later and that line seems to have been edited out of the announcement.
Is it a big deal? I don't know. Which would I prefer? I don't know.
Part of me wants it to NOT be there. Because that would be the true ORIGINAL UNALTERED THEATRICAL release. Part of me wants it there, because if it is all about nostalgia, the version I grew up on had it there. (I was born 5 months before the movie premiered, so the version I grew up on was the version I taped off of CBS. Remember movies on Network Television being a big deal?)
Although I'd be happy either way, I believe I'd rather it not be there. Because other than when I first get it, I see myself watching the 2004 DVD versions on a more regular basis, and just want the ORGINAL UNALTERED VERSION as sort of an archive.
But basically, I want to see if anyone else noticed this?
