STAR WARS TV SHOW - DEATH STAR
We all know STAR WARS is headed for the small screen. And with this move, it opens up many stories that can be told more detailed over many seasons. One which I just thought of, takes place on the first Death Star during it's construction.
There are many ways you can go with this story. One, is to take place immediatly after the conclusion of Episode III, and playing straight out. But seeing as most TV shows do not last 18 years, we'd probably never get the resolution at the end of the series. Two, would also start at Episode III's conclusion and maybe cover 2 years in each season. Third, and I believe most attractive, is have the story start about 7 years or so before the events of Episode IV, and have it play out so that the very end of the series will be the events leading right into A New Hope.
This third version will make the most sense, if only for the fact that it is concievable that by that time, although many weapons may not be intact, life support and basic shape would be.
What is most appealing to me about this as a TV show is it's reversal of main characters. The show will be focused on the "bad guys." The Empire, most notably the creators and contructors of the Death Star, will be the shows focus.
Taking place obviously somewhere on the outer rim, to deter detection, we will be introduced to many characters and races not yet known to us. And also a possibility is to take these characters back to Coruscant every once in a while to discuss the plans with Empire Officials, because you can not trust deep space communication security. And also quite frankly to get them off the station from time to time.
There could be times when a small band of the newly formed rebels find out about the station and the Empire must destroy or capture them before they can get this news back to the rebelion, or Senate for that matter.
Endless amounts of stories and arcs can be told. But just imagine a TV show where the main character is Grand Moff Tarkin. Honestly, I love the idea, and not just because it's mine.
So if you love this idea or hate this idea write some feedback, I'd love the read it.
(And yes I know the pic is of DS2, but it is the only one they had.)
