So, I had this great long post about how I got to see Revenge of the Sith back on March 5th, then tracked my various thoughts and feelings about it up thru today, waiting to see it again at midnight...hit the preview button, looked ok, but hit the Back button instead of the 'Edit this Entry' one and lost it all. Actually went out on the 'feelings' limb, and for me, was a pretty decent bit of writing. Gonzo. Oh well, can't redo all that due to time and due to not being in the moment any longer....regardless, here's a couple of run-on sentences that summarizes everything that was:
I got invited as a thank you to the ROTS Press Screening in Indy, but it was strange as it was 1/2 empty and 2/3 filled with people who were there to work, not enjoy the movie. Movie went by too fast, too much to take in, too stunned by the imagery that I've been waiting to see since ROTJ ended, but due to my over eager spoiler friends, got focused on the negatives about the movie. Next day I changed my attitude and every moment since, the movie has aged very, very well in my mind, to the point that I'm just as excited to see it again tonight at midnight as I was 2 weeks ago, if not more so. Oh, Episode 3 could have benefited from meaner sounding Super Battle Droids and a fine cameo appearance by Sebulba....everything else was what I wanted (other than more, but that's what the DVD is for I guess).
It's a great movie...best ever? Not really, I mean Goodfellas is still my favorite. Best Star Wars movie ever? Maybe...I'll let you know once I've seen it one or two more times...or you can go ask Mr. Owl. The nostagia factor of the OT will be hard to overcome, but I can already tell it's probably the most re-watchable SW movie.
