This is a bit late I suppose, but from what I understand, the article was just posted:
Rupert's Kids' ROTS Lineup Article.
I guess I need to preface everything with even though I'm a geektastic fanboy, I only waited in line for a couple extra hours...wife, kids, job....just getting to see a movie at the midnight showing was a feat of scheduling and owed favors...but still, it kills me that some people loiter around their theaters for weeks/months for no other purpose than to get a bit of publicity in their local papers.
Luckily for me, my local fan club, the
Indy Knights: Hoosier Daddy, Luke? & the guys from the
Bloodfin 501st Garrison spared me the scorn of the general public and decided to do some good and raise money for not one, but 2 charities during the Lineup for Revenge of the Sith...
Kisses for Katie and
Rupert's Kids. Rupert was there on Wednesday night and viewed the midnight showing in our theater (yes, our theater...between the two fan clubs we got our own). I'm assuming you've at least heard of Rupert, but if not, he's the guy from CBS' Survivor...I don't watch it, but he won it twice. Anyway, he's very, very cool in person...same gravely voice and everything. I think we raised around $4,000, mostly from club members asking for donations and a very, very cool on site raffle. Pair that with the
$7700 we raised for the Kisses for Katie Fund at the C3 Fan Party, I'd say we're doing all right.
