Well it's time for me to start talking. Today I'll talk about Lightsabers. Let's start shall we. The Lightsaber is the wepon of the Jedi and Sith. It consists of a metal hilt in which is a crystal which emits a blade of pure energy. Each Lightsaber is different like it's onwner. Take Darth Maul's hilt. It actually emits two blades, one from each side. Or the good Count. His hilt is curved and the activator is like a blaster trigger. Or Corran Horn's in the bok Dark Tide 1 Onslaught the wrighter tells us his hilt is a speder bike throttle.

Now onto the blade. There are several different colors including: blue, green, yellow, purple, and red. The red blade is used by the Sith. The other colors are used by the Jedi. Back to the hilt. In many Jedi the hilts are very different. But not always. Take for instince Yoda's hilt then look at Luke's first saber(Ankins to). They resemble each other. Or how about Obi-Wan's and Luke's second sabers. They too resemble each other. Each balde makes a unmastakeble noise. Just about all Star Wars novel wrighters call it a snap-hiss.

Next is the purpose of the Lightsaber. There are two different ways to see the lightsaber. First is the Jedi's veiw. They see it as a tool for defense. In a clone wars book (I belief it's shatterpoint) it says that in many cases Mace Windo only had to activate his balde and that would end a battle. The second way to see it is the Sith's veiw. They see the Lightsaber as a weapon to kill.

Now the Lightsaber is very strong. It can cut through almost any thing. There are two different metals that can stop the blade. I can't recall what they are called. General Grievous's body guard's electro blades wher made of on of those metals. In Timothy Zhan's book Surviver's Quest, Mara Jade tells Luke that Palpatines chaber doors wher made of these metals. It can also deflect blaster bolts.

Last is Lightsaber fighting forms. There are many different forms each very unquie. Obi-Wan fights with a form III fighting style. Ankin fights with a form I. Mace Windo made his own form, it's called Vaapad. It was made to chanel his dark emotions. But not even Vaapad could defeat Palpatine AKA Darth Sidous.
