Hello there It's me D hav. I love the show "Mythbusters" as I bet many of the brothers and sister's of SW.com do too. So I was watching the other day and thought "Hmmm...how come they don't try to bust the lightsaber myth?" (or any SW myth). So I started to research lightsabers. Here's what my conclusions are. I think that if you have a plasma beam contained in an electro-magnetic field it is possible. What is not possible is the Idle hum and the sleeknes of the hilt or handle cause for the plasma to be projected hydrogen gas must be heated to extreme temperatures and then shot out continuously because the plasma wil cool down almost immediately. This will cause limitations to size of the hilt because because the gas must be heated constantly. So after that comes the electro-magnet. I know how to make one but I am not sure of how to keep it in a certain area. So what you end up with after that is.... wait let me do the calculations.....and.... yep it's one big saber! Realistically it is half the size of a garage. If you what to go into battle with that be my guest. I sent all that info and more to "Mythbusters" and we will see if they actully even hear about it. So I think the best thing a Star Wars fan can do is pray. Will you pray with me please.
