Hiya Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its been a long day at school today, it was a relief when we found out it was a day off for an extended weekend. Yey.
I've began to read Darth Vader: Rise of the Dark Lord, so far its great. Although a line in the book made me reflect back to a comment which jedivnsnator made he said

I disagree. Midi-chlorians are what communicate to the Force, and according to the test Qui-Gon performed on Anakin, it's located in the blood.
Now, logically, if you hardly have any parts left, you're hardly going to have any midi-chlorians left either, even if you had a Force-wielding number of them to begin with.
Then once again I saw the same remark in DVROTDL
(Darth Vader: Rise of the Dark Lord) vader thought
"With loss of my limbs, have I also lost strength in the force"
Now this is partially true and jedivnsnator has concluded this question.
So it is possible Vader has lost power through the force due to loss of limbs and so forth. But both in the EU and the Films we instantly feel the power in which Vader has achieved through his rage and hate.
Is it his Looks?
Or Maybe its just Vaders looks. We all know he looks like something out of a nightmare. In DVROTDL the Storm troopers first thoughts on Vader was that he was a new CIS War Droid General to replace Greivous. When seeing this tall strong Figure marching towards you, quite frankly you would freak out. After some years once Vader had grown a reputation the whole galaxy would dread the day when they saw vader
Was he Purposely put into his Machine Form?
Another theory is this. Sidious, A dark lord of the Sith knew how strong Vader would be and that maybe just maybe Sidious knew that in the near future Vader
(with all his limbs) would attempt and succeed in assassinating Sidious and claiming control of the galaxy. So to prevent this
(assuming that Sidious saw into the future) he allowed Vader carry on and face Obi-Wan where his overconfidence would lead to his loss of limbs and even slight loss of Midi- Chlorians. Then to show Sidious's true loyalty to Vader, Sidious saved him and repaired him to and extent where he would be less able in mobility but be more headstrong and mentally able.
Why Pursue the Sith Roll
Anakin had a hard choice deciding to join Palpatine or not. His main reason was to protect his loved Padme from dying. Although however she did. So what was Vaders purpose on pursuing his Sith Roll. Why not return to the light and kill the Emperor. Apart from his hope for more power for which he lost during his Machine reconstruction, Vader was basically lost. I'm sure he knew that the Emperor and the Republic were really corrupt and not the jedi he just refused to believe it.
My Conclusion
Overall I reckon Vader was never truly on the dark side and that his rage were mistaken as cries for relieve being stuck in the suit. After some time Vader finally came to terms in what had happened and by that time the Emperor had finally seduced him into the darkness. If Obi-Wan had not of been defeated Anakin, I believe Anakin would still be on the side of the Jedi and would have been convinced by non other than Padme that Palpatine was evil and had controlled the war from start to finish.
What are your thoughts Guys, is Vader really as powerful as he is thought to be?
