it's just a light kinda.A sword cuts using metal and sharpness.However a lightsaber does neither it's not a metal or a object it's not even sharp.You see when the it comes out the end is not sharp.now some may say the blaster is also a light but it shoots fast and comes with a strong force.However a lightsaber can not be swung that hard it can hurt alot but it won't do amazing damage so I ask you how does the lightsaber work.My original theory was that the jedi used the force to make it strong but we see han cut the innards of a tuantuan so that disables that theory and the lightsaber deflecting blasterfire seems odd I know it's possible easily but how do they do it.Also if you like jedi then I suggest you join the jedi forum at
