ok. there are so many trilogies out there. So can we consider star wars to be the best trilogy the modern world has ever seen? i say yes. Star wars did a lot more than just make our imaginations expand. It helped our country in a desperate time of need. It did so much for americans and people across the globe. Not only did the average american benefit, but filmakers alike recieved the knowledge to include groundbreaking thematic elements into their movies from the day star wars came out to our present day. Star wars has inspired thousands of adults and kids around the globe and i must say not many movies have been able to achieve a goal of that matter. Many people don't realize the the effect Star Wars had on the world in the late 70's and early 80's. But where would we be in a film making sense without Star Wars? Would technology be where it is now?
Probably not, but thats not something we have to worry about thanks to George Lucas. George Lucas has touched just about every American life in a unique way with Star Wars. Even the people that hate Star Wars has made that a part of their life becasue of George Lucas. To me, george was the most influencial filmaker of our century. He re- wrote the book on how to make and produce a movie.
Think about when you were a kid the kind of toys you had. Most likely, they were some kind of blocks or train set. Then, when Star Wars came out, you found yourself playing with things no one had heard of a day before the release of the movie. It's incredible how much the toy industry and collecting world changed becasue of Star Wars.
Think about the careers of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher. Without these names you wouldn't have had a clue of who they were. It's likely we could have seen Kurt Russell as Indiana Jones if Harrison Ford wasn't casted. Would you even know who mark hamill and carrie fisher were? It's tough to say. But what is easy to say is that Star Wars gave these actors a fighting chance in Hollywood to become who they are today.
So this is why I, Darth Revan II, think that Star Wars was the best, most influencial and inspiring trilogy that was ever made.
