What would make the best SW video game ever

Empire at War is a great game. It is one of the best star wars video games out there. I only wish that it would come out on xbox. To make Empire at War the best game ever there would need to be one change. I think that if you could actually go into first person and be a trooper that would make the best game ever. You would be combining Battlefront and Empire at War. Two great games and if you add them together there is no way that that wouldn't make the best game ever. Just think you can put you troops where you want them and then actually become one of the troops. That would be awesome.

As of right now I think that Lego Star wars is the best video in the sw universe but if they added battlefront and Empire at war together that would be the best sw video out there.

Let me know what you think would be the best sw video game ever.

I have thought of the very same thing you have. I am a huge fan of Battlefront I and II. It's not the best game ever made, but one of the better Star Wars games. I play it very often. I also like the Episode III game. That was a very good game because the control you had over you're character was awsome and it was fun to play. I have ofetn thought, though that i wish there was a game that was a combination of the two. Be able to be a trooper and raise hell throughout the battle field and be a jedi/sith and rule the battle field. And since Empire at War came out it makes me want to conbine all three. That would be an awsome game. Good point!

I know what USED to be a good game - Star Wars Galaxies. And then Sony Online Entertainment introduced first the combat upgrade, which completely destroyed the game, and then the New Gaming Engine, which is better than the CU, but still, I find myself very bored with the game, and frustrated that I have to relearn it every 4 or 5 months because SOE can't seem to think intelligently. I only continue to play to chat with the friends I've made through the game, more of which continue to leave every week...

EAW is definitely an awesome game, though I've only played the demo and a bit of the regular version. I look forward to purchasing it

date Posted: Apr 05, 2006 8:11 AM Did you know that my brother actually thought that was what Empire at War was? He confused Battlefront II and Empire at War. I think you are right about that, but unfortunately, it probably could only come out on those game consoles and not on PC. It would take up too much of the hard drive.

I think the idea of combining the strategy and FPS genres would make for a great game, but to be "the best game ever," for me at least, it would require adding a lot of RPG elements to the game (meaning stuff from KotOR and similar games). Unfortunately, there would be a LOT of problems trying to design and code a game like that right now and it would take a long time if it was even possible. I like the idea though.

I disagree completely. Console games have to be shorter and smaller because they dont have as much space as a computer does. Sure the Xbox is just a computer dedicated to video games, but the computer I'm typing this on is a good deal more powerful than an Xbox and my computer is a few years old. Any truly massive game would have to be a PC game unless the designer dumbed down the graphics and decided it was ok if the game lagged.

You a the commander of a Star Desroyer and you can just fly around space and blow up planets or destroy Rebel fleets. Or just take over a planet. Well that's my fantasy game.

I think BF (I and II) is great in terms of first-person games because it lets you run around and jump into vehicles or ships. It would be cool though if they bridged the gap between BFIIs land and space battles.

Wouldn't it be awesome to run into a hanger on the ground, jump in a fighter, fly up through the atmosphere into an orbital space battle, land in a capital ship, take control and pilot the capital ship to hyperspace to a space battle at another location, etc?

I could be a combination of EAW on land, BF on land, BF in space, EAW in space, adding a first-person perspective of the EAW galactic system. You could pilot a whole fleet and control a capital ship or fighter at the same time.

Talk about fast-paced!

I think that maybe a Star Wars Super-Smash Brothers type game would be a great seller. You would be able to pick any character from the 6 movies. Imagine having a crazy fight between Watto and Wicket, or having Chewie vs. Darth Maul, and finally you can see Jar Jar die if you make him fight Vader. And you would be able to fight on any of the planets, from Hoth to Mustafar. I would definately buy this game.

jedi starfighter would be rated more highly than rogue leader?! i loved that game and being a PS2 gamer was extremely jealous that it was gamecube exclusive. The way that the enemy pilots flew in formation 7 reacted when you dispatched of their leader was great. It's also the only game (sequel included) that's shown a star destroyer in all it's glory (in terms of size, looks & weaponry), I was slightly disappointed with the detailing of the star destroyers on battlefront II, althought the gameplay made up for it. I'd love to see a next gen SW game where you could do the Death Star run.

i must disagree with you saying
there is no way that that wouldn't make the best game ever.

starwars games todate have been just alright games average ok

battlefront and KOTOR are prity much the only 2 to rise above avarage
but i personaly am a huge starwars fan and a huge gammer

but i dont let my love for starwas blind me from reconizing most starwars games as crap and a marketing scheme.

to me Halo is the best game ever

so far nothings changed that for me...

sure BF 1 & 2 are fun games but after a while the replayability just wears off

KOTOR was fun to play though maby a couple times and the funs over

You have to create a jedi master who you'll play as throughout the game.Since the at the time of the clone wars the jedi were generals, you position all yor troops then, as your created jedi master lead then into battle.

I think there should be Star Wars: Bounty Hunter 2. You could start out as Boba at Geonosis and see your father get killed. Then you would have to fistfight your way thruogh some angry Geonosioans. Then it would say something like 10 years later and you would have your armor, be grown up, and be a bounty hunter. You would just hunt for a few people for a few levels. After that Jabba would send you after Han and Chewie. Then you would fall in the Sarlacc pit and... munch, munch, munch. Mmmmmm... Boba Fett.
Then there should be a BH 3 where you get out of the sarlacc and go on some more missions with the girl that rescued you and that other guy in Mandolorian Armor. (It read it a while ago so i don't really remember their names)

Just throwing some thoughts out there but has anyone noticed that we havent gotten much in the way of a pure fighter simulation game for a while? I mean BF2 had fighters but i just didnt get that feel that i was doing anything more than flying around and shooting at fast flying blips. The Star Wars X-wing and TIE fighter games of the mid 90's allowed you to do far more advanced stuff like ajust shield strength/weapons/engine power and fly actual missions like bombing runs on imp convoys or inspecting cargo and there was a dedicated campaign series intended just for space. Like a campaign where you foiled a defecting Grand Admirals plans...Plus you got to fly stuff like B-wings or TIE Defenders.
