I've been doing it for a long time and only ONE of mine was ever used - it's been nearly a year since then. Keep trying - I'm sure lots of people enter comments.

I wouldn't be surprised if a computer randomly picks entries to publish either. I find it a little hard to believe someone actually reads every entry made.

However, if they do - SHOW YOURSELF O' MYSTERIOUS ONE! Just kidding! Ha!

That's not how we do it. A real person picks them. I picked them for 2 years, and now someone else does it.

The thing to remember is that we get a TON of submissions each week and the majority of them are pretty bad. If you want a better chance of being picked, be FUNNY, be original and make references to TV shows, other films, and other pop culture references. Being witty goes a long way.

If it makes you feel better, I've never been picked once since 2002 :0) There's a huge amount of fans out there submitting entries, I'd imagine.

I've never had mine published either. I doubt the odds are in our favor.

Man just think being the one who picks from all those entries. That has to be tough. It would be much easier for them to pick all of mine.

Well, seeing as how i have had 3 replys to that posted in the last few months, i guess i might be called an expert at coming up with witty frases and junk.

Okay, maybe not. But anyways, yes, the ones i wrote that were selected were all references to SW or another SW related movie (a.k.a. Spaceballs).

I've only had one selected and that one altered a line from ROTJ. But it hasn't happened since. I TRY to be funny all the time, but it's just such hard work.... and some pictures don't inspire me like others. I also know the time I had one chosen I had submitted like 20 captions for that one picture! Just get creative, submit a buttload and have fun!!

How is the title caption picked? The one that names the page and is above the image? Is it selected from the list of submissions or does someone from Lucasfilm make that up?

Well, I got picked once, but I've probably submitted about 100 entries or so... so I guess the odds are ... approximately three thousand, seven hundred and twenty to one.

I know how you feel, I have been posting for 7 weeks not ONE has been picked, yet.

Keep trying you'll get one listed eventually. You can see a couple of the ones I've gotten listed. My last three successes have been: last week's, week before last's, and then way back at the image of Vader surrounded by the girls in the metal bikinis. For that one I reworked a SW:EU title. Instead of "Heir to the Empire", I put "Harem to the Empire". I don't think any of mine are particularly funny. There just the first thing that came to mind based on the image.

Maybe bonniegrrl can guide us on this thought, but i've had the personal satisfaction of knowing that my entry for one of them made it as the main caption. Could have been coincidence, but I'd like to think not. And if I'm right then if your caption is short enough and to the point you could even have that happen for you even if you're not credited. Bonniegrrl would have to tell us if they pick the main or make it up. Either way KEEP TRY! and MTFBWYA

Sometimes I consider putting in funny yet inappropriate comments... not to be picked, but to give somebody on the other end something to giggle privately to themselves about--I guess better judgement always gets the best of me.

Not that I've ever been picked, but one rule I go by is the advice my English instructor taught me: "Keep it simple."

In high school, I was on the school newspaper and was tasked with writing a political cartoon regarding how cold our school kept the temperature. Students were complaining, but nothing was done about it. I had all of these ideas, but I decided to just do something simple instead of using all of my complicated jokes.....it worked. I was a very anonymous student, but I received several compliments on that cartoon and the school actually turned up the heat. The best part, was that I didn't use any dialogue at all.....it was all visual and captured within one frame.
