A Quick Note on Courtesy, and Common Rules
I was just reading through responses to a popular blog, hopefully you all know we do this), and came across someone who felt compelled to tell the author to "get a life".

Remember that these blogs are subject to the same basic rules as the boards - no flaming, no trolling, no spamming, no socking, no objectionable material, etc.

Let's please ensure that we are all aware of our responsibilities to be courteous, even when we disagree with something said. No one deserves to be insulted for sharing an opinion, especially an opinion not directed specifically to you.

It's funny how people will personally attack a person when they haven't said anything insulting to them first. It's just...uncivilized. And immature.

So this is a reminder that we do read these things, and these guidelines hold true everywhere on this site. Treat each other with respect. Discuss, don't bicker. Post, don't posture.

Because we are here, and we do ban for these offenses, be it today, or found from 3 days ago - if we find it, we'll lock posters over it. So I think this is a good time to pull together to make sure we're all on the same page.

I only mention this because I think it might be confusing to have a new medium to express yourselves, and we're all enjoying it immensely, I think. But with the new medium, very little else has changed. The blogs have been designed for the most part to be "self-policing", allowing the author to blacklist posters from responding, or deleting the comments altogether. In this case, this author was big enough not to say anything untoward back to the poster, nor delete the comment. But that does not mean that a mod won't take action if we feel its necessary.

So be nice. We're having a big blog party. Don't go poopin' on it, huh?

Gracias,
