The Starfighter Docking Bay

Yoda, PAY ATTENTION!

A friend of mine just got me Star Wars Episode one on *VHS, a belated christmas present.

I was watching it and there was something very interesting when the council was testing Anakin. Mace Windu was holding up a small view screen, and Anakin was, I guess using the force, to tell what it was displaying. When Anakin finishes, Windu nods to Yoda that Anakin did them all correctly. You get the impression that Yoda was waiting for conformation. Unless Yoda wasn't paying attention, wouldn't he have known Anakin got them all correct without Windu telling him?

*For those of you that don't know what a VHS is, it's a black rectangular box with a long black ribbon like thing inside, you can find one at just about any good-will or thrift store if you have never seen one.

Love the joke about the VHS.

Actually, I think Yoda was busy studying Anakin, his reactions, his emotions, etc. I don't think Yoda was too concerned with Anakin's performance at the time. Qui-gon thought enough of Anakin to bring him before the counsel, and they already knew he had an extremely high midichlorian count. At most, the only thing that test was going to tell them was that Anakin had developed some use of force powers.

date Posted: Feb 27, 2008 11:39 AM Yoda is old, perhaps he nodded off.... LOL Or it could be that Yoda and Mace were exchanging looks of agreement rather than confirmation.... Ha, VHS... I remember those.... they came along after BetaMax...

date Posted: Mar 06, 2008 7:51 PM I don't think that the test was so much a test of whether or not he could tell what was there. It was more a test of how he answered the questions and his thought processes.
