Even Harrison Ford makes mistakes!
DISCLAIMER- I LOVE STAR WARS, WARTS AND ALL, AND IT'S PART OF THAT LOVE THAT MAKES IT FUN TO POINT STUFF LIKE THIS OUT:

By now most of you have probably noticed that hilarious piece of bad acting in The Phantom Menace in which Natalie Portman can be seen mouthing along to Liam Neeson's lines as he introduces himself to Shmi. I think this is something a lot of actors do, unconsciously of course, as they replay the scene in their heads. I've seen this happen on a lot of live television shows like SNL. It does seem like memorizing the entire scene would make it easier to remember individual lines, but of course actors should take great care to not lip sync their colleagues' lines when the cameras are rolling.

It's a shame that Portman committed such a grievous error in a Star Wars movie, but it should be acknowledged that she is not the only one responsible for tainting the saga with such a mistake... So who else is guilty, you ask?

Upon watching The Empire Strikes Back the other night I noticed the mighty Harrison Ford makes this very same mistake. During the scene when the Falcon has taken refuge in the space slug's mouth and a tremor sends Leia into Han's arms, watch Han after he tells her "don't get excited." He mouths along with her line, "Captain, being held by you isn't quite enough to get me excited." It's subtle, but he's definitely doing it. :^O
