
In the beginning of Revenge of the Sith, why would a Republic cruiser be firing on the Invisible Hand when it was known that the chancellor was on board? You'd think the clones would have the strictest of orders (especially when you consider Palpatines knack for meticulous planning, but even regardless of that really) to maintain the safety of the ship and to not engage it in any way until the chancellor is brought to safety. I know I'm nitpicking, but I'm curious if anyone has an adequate answer because this is something that's always bothered me...
