Stop hating Star Trek!
"Space... The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. It's continuing mission, to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before."
-Commander James Kirk and Captain Jean-Luc Picard

Yes, I Love Star Wars dearly. I've loved it sinse I was a kid because I thought it was "cool", and it was. But at that time any little boy or girl would have loved it because of its "coolness". For years I re-enacted lightsaber battles with an occasional stick I found in the back yard with my best friend.

Then I got older.

As I aged, my love for Star Wars grew and grew then I found this place. A place where I could openly express my joy of being a Star Wars fan. Over time, I Started not to like Star Wars only for it's battles and great special effects, but how it can almost relate to current problems as well as past. But that wasn't what fans demanded, they demanded action and violence and video games with guns and lightsabers. I didn't. That's when I got Star Trek.

On one Tuesday afternoon I came home like anyother day. I for one, forgot to turn off the T.V. . It was on Spike, my favorite channel. I sat down in the recliner and closed my eyes. Then I heard the following.

"Space... The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. It's continuing mission, to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before."

I knew it was Star Trek from the Second I heard Patrick Stewart's voice emit those first words. I though noting of it at the time. I opened my eyes and observed expecting to see lasers flying every wich way. I was wrong. All I found was a Sci-Fi Soap Opera. Normally, I wouldn't watch a Soap Opera, but this was different. There was action/ adventure, as well as drama and conflict. I loved it! The acting was pretty dang good! The characters as well.

Soon I began to watch it everyday and couldn't get enough of it. I began to buy the dvds of the original and TNG. Then I watched the movies and read the books and made a new favorite Sci-Fi character: Lt. Commander Data.

So hopefully you young ones can learn to respect Star Trek as much as you do Star Wars. Give everything a chance.

May the force be with and live long and proper.
