Well it was a long 15 hour wait to get into the theatre for Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith, but I made it! This was my first time standing in line for a huge amount of time. I must say it was quite strange. A lot of weird stuff can happen in 15 hours. Such as...nerds battling with lightsabers every 30 minutes or so. A Korean War veteran came up to me and said, "You're waiting in line right now for a movie that starts at 12:01am?" "Yes," was my reply. "....What's wrong with you?" "Sir, I don't know." Later on I noticed a couple buy a pair of movie tickets, walk inside the theatre, and then walk back out. I hadn't realized that I had pretty much sat in the same spot looking in the same place for about two hours. It was very surreal. I think I really did spend most of the time staring into space.
But hey, it was all worth it. I absolutely loved Episode III. It was everything I wanted and needed it to be. Now that the saga is complete, I can finally and definitively say that STAR WARS is the greatest movie in the history of cinema. I don't think I'll ever be as emotionally affected by any other piece of cinema in my entire life. This morning I woke up with a very empty feeling. It was over and I felt as lost as poor Anakin Skywalker. As a filmmaker, I feel anything I will ever make will be inferior. What I aspire to do could never reach the greatness of STAR WARS. But hey... life goes on. And I must do my best, and learn from all that STAR WARS has given to cinema, society, and my life.
