 | Too good to be true? |
 What a year I'm having!
It started with the databank entry for the little rolo-droid being accepted, then by winning a JMW raffle, then all the joy of C IV and now, would'ya believe it? I won another raffle
What can I say about JMW that hasn't already been said? (Other than the fact that she's on the ten most wanted list in Tonga for some reason).
It was a pleasure to meet Melinda and Caitlin at C IV, what a great mom and daughter pair they are - and then to come home to find a shiny red box - hoo hoo!
Upon tearing into it with wild abandon, I discovered Clone Wars stickers, a lovely card, a Vader themed goodie bag, a Vader keychain and all three of the 'Infinities' graphic novels!! The force is strong with Melinda Wolf, for after Tag and Bink (and yes I will be bidding), the Infinities series is my favorite of all the Star Wars comics!! My other set is languishing in a plastic wrap and box in a basement in Ottawa - so now I can enjoy them without the fear of getting my grubby prints all over them - huzzah for the good guys!
As for lil' lego Darth... I had one of these when they first appeared in the shops and attached it to my classroom keys when I was a teacher in Toronto. One day I looked down at my keys, and he was gone! And then the snows came...
After four months of constant snow and freezing rain, the sun finally began to thaw out poor old Ontario, and one afternoon I was walking to my car when I spotted something laying in the gutter. It was small, black-ish, and oddly Vader shaped...
I picked it up, and whooped with joy when I realized I had found my long lost key chain buddy! But that's not all - as you can see in the photo, not only did lil' vader suffer some dents and fraying, but he also lost his right hand! Spooky eh?
Look at JMW's replacement, all shiny and new next to my old one. I love 'em both
Thanks JMW!!
Hey - check out our C IV loot - I'll post proper pics and details later on - LOL.
Cheerio!

O... M... G! First, at the Vader keychain! That is just SO odd. Tattered Vader looks JUST like Vader at the end of ROTJ, severed arm included OMG 2 goes out to the C4 loot. Wow, maybe it's a GOOD thing some of the exclusives were all bought up before you got a chance to get them (as you mentioned in the gripes section of your last blog ).
So what kind of second job will you be taking on to afford CE? I'm currently trying to win tix through the sweepstakes at the History channel site, so maybe I'll be seeing you there!
Actually, when I first started hearing about the Celebrations, I wanted to go to CE so much more than C4 in LA! Unfortunately, wanting wasn't enough to get to either. I'm going to start saving for C5 asap!

Now, THAT'S a lot of loot, no doubts there!!
I was one of Melinda's winners last week, too! It was indeed wonderful to come home to such a great thing!
That Vader arm-thing is too spooky...but at least you have a shiny new one to keep him company! The old one just has so much character, though!

You really did make a haul out of CIV!! I'm not much of a collector myself, but your loot it truly amazing!! I really would have had to ship all of that back home...no way it would have fit in my luggage

That IS kinda freaky!
Ain't it?
but the wife stopped me,
LOL - sadly I have no such problem with Kuldip...
Holy CRAP you got a lot of stuff.
Mostly Kuldip's I should add...
So what kind of second job will you be taking on to afford CE?
I've tried selling my body, but I'm currently down $20.
so maybe I'll be seeing you there!
Oh - I hope so!
How did your documentary shooting go?
Pretty cool, considering all the restrictions. I worked around them though

The old one just has so much character, though!
I agree, but every time I mention this, my new one throws his arms up and shouts NOOOOOO!
no way it would have fit in my luggage
I got this, plus our luggage, camera gear (including lights) Pam's luggage, Darth Travi's loot and a can of sugar free Red Bull into the back of a Dodge Minivan. I think it was a TARDIS.

Wow! That is freaky! I too lost my keys in the snow at the school I taught at in Canada and didn't recover them until Spring. Um, yeah, I guess that isn't such an unusual thing to happen here in the Great White North.
Seriously--the Darth Vadar thing is cool.
Congratulations on the excellent shopping AND packing. Are you going to have to build on to your house to display it all? Can't wait to see the close-ups of everything.

Awesome! I got a Chewie Lego keychain from JMW, that old vader rules it, it truly does man haha. Awesomeness.
Nice hauil too on the fig cases and stuff. I noticed the classic MPC Vader ship model kit. I have one of those. Superb item to own.
I am looking for a nonscalped classic shuttle tydirium kit. Damned scalpers, I hate them.
I am glad you had fun at C4. it was very excellent conversing with you via internet chatroom. I liked the live audio feature the best really. You cannot type an accent. I hope you enjoyed my New England accent but your REAL England accent was very cool.

Congrats on the win! good haul of loot you got there. And very neat about the Vader keychain. The Force is strong in that keychain I think.

As my hubby would say, you can't win if you don't enter, and all it takes is one entry.
(I think that's his way of saying "no, I will not add any more than my occasional $1 to the state lottery coffers." I think he figures the state gets enough from our hefty tax bill! )
Nobby, I am so glad you enjoyed your raffle surprise. I suppose it was inevitable that I eventually would start duplicating items. (I try so hard to use my Force powers so that doesn't happen! ) Strangely, the two Vaders go quite well together!
And I'm glad you can (re)enjoy the Infinities series. C has them - and actually let me read her copies!

Sounds like you had a great time.
That's a lot of stuff. I enlisted a pal who was able to go to bring me back some goodies. He called me and I pretty much made him inventory everything available to buy. I think I tired him out.
