Borag thung!
Well, some degree of normality has returned to our evil lair high in the Los Gatos hills - I just finished a short doc about a local composer, and will be tackling the Amira footage next - thanks again to all of you who helped me get some awesome shots (Deej and Stooge in particular).
I finally have enough breathing space to get 3PO week up and running, so look for him on Monday, and as you might have guessed, I have managed to get a new chapter of my fiction written.
I just want to take a moment to thank my regulars who always give me great feedback on my writing - I am really enjoying weaving these threads together and your encouragement keeps me going
A brief recap:
Several days after the events of Order 66, Jedi brothers, Scarp and Pel Hed'n, along with their youngling wards, have encountered a renegade group of clones called
The Ashes on the planet Kiffu.
The jedi and clones form an uneasy alliance as they plot to leave the planet, and relationships are strained when one of the brothers has to kill several clone military police in order to facilitate their escape...
Here is
Chapter Six - and here is a funky little picture of
their escape ship which has my favorite name of any ship in the Galaxy (you'll have to read the chapter to find out - mwahahaha)
As part of the writing process, I am reading many Star Wars novels that I initially missed, getting a flavor of what works for me, and what doesn't.
So far, I have thoroughly enjoyed Karen Traviss's
RC books - she writes so fluidly and entertainingly that I got sucked in immediately, definitely preferring the first novel though, for reasons I'll probably expand upon in one of rj's blogs

I ploughed through
Outbound Flight, and sadly found it a bit of a chore. I love Thrawn, and consider him the greatest EU character ever put on paper, but this novel was a bit of a slog... ah well, horses for courses I guess.
I then read
Labyrinth of Evil followed by
Dark Lord, and thoroughly enjoyed them both - possibly because of their relationship to RotS.
By now - anyone who is reading my fic will see all of these books influencing my story - funnily enough, I already had the plot in place long ago before it became a Star Wars story, ah...osmosis...
Next up was
Shatterpoint which I disliked on so many levels - I will definitely be writing about this one on rj's blog
Now I am working my way through
Medstar I and
II - so far I am enjoying them, I have fallen in love with Bariss Offee and I can't get Alan Alda out of my head.
Anyhoo - have a look, let me know if you like what I'm doing, then get on the blower to Del Rey
Splundig vur thrigg!
