Hello,

Here's my last post from sunny CA for a while, and bear with me if my posting is a bit haphazard for the next three weeks (Mum's computer is basically an abacus with a mouse).

First up, let's get Turning to the Dork Side #6 out of the way. Done it? Good.

Next up, I'm looking forward to meeting fellow bloggers and artists/authors alike at C Euro - if you see me, come up and say hello, I'll be wearing either one of these tee shirts and gallivanting around with either my friend's little boy, Bruce, or my nephew, Sean.

I'll also be on a mission to score Mark's siggy for some of my beloved fellow bloggers, and have made him a special card, which sends him all of our best wishes and thanks.

And now onto the meat course.

Some while ago in the distant past (last year), I wrote a blog that looked like this.
In it, a bunch of us bounced around the concept of a new line of 'Tales from...' novels, i.e. 'Tales from the Pit Lane', Tales from the Jedi Temple' etc...
The 'Tales from...' series is quite possibly my favorite Star Wars literature out there, and I have always toyed with the idea of putting together my own fan-fic collection.
When I did a bit of research, I discovered that the podracers (whom I'd set my heart on) already had some fairly extensive back-stories, and this threw a hydro-spanner in the works.
Then I looked to Dex's Diner, and discovered that there are indeed a number of named individuals enjoying a fry up or a cup of joe in the background while Obi Wan and Dex ruminate over the saber dart, most of them without a story.

To get the ball rolling I have started the collection here at Tales from the Diner with my own contribution, Honka's Final Favor. A special thank you to r.j. for proof-reading my tale and pointing out my Britishisms and occasional rambling

So, here is the plan. This is an open invitation to all writers out there who would like to have a go at contributing to the collection. In a moment, you will see a list of characters (from AOTC, not the EU) that can be written about. There are eight in all, seven now that I have claimed one
I have not included Hermione, Dex or WA-7 in this list as these characters already have extensive stories, but if you really want to have a crack at one of them, feel free, just stick to the canon.
I did all my research using the databank and wookieepedia, and have included the wookieepedia links with each available name below.

Ony Bobbisia - A Triffian diner. Being handled by Luuke.
Rednax - A dug, sitting with Seboca and Slyther
Seboca - A dug holovid star - being looked into by Darth Hiram
Slyther Bushforb - a private investigator - currently being researched by Merryman Lyon
Lowle Ch'red - A female human - being considered by zach
Sidewa - Rodian, sitting with Honka. Being tackled by rapping rancor.
Honka - Rodian, tale authored by me.
Bogg Tyrell - A drunken, female Aleena

If you want to be a part of the collection, I urge you to do your research first, I will be checking!

Also, I'm going to be a hard arse about this - if a story is submitted with bad grammar and/or spelling, no structure, or too much heavy petting then I probably won't read it. Also please keep your tale fairly short, about six pages, 12 point type, single spaced works out just dandy.

Go read Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina or Tales from Jabba's Palace to get the idea of what I'm looking for.
