Salt shakers, gaint robot-morphing cabbits and song piracy.
Okay, so I made my first Ebay purchase in about 7 years, and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I just got the 7 discs that make up the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. I love that show. I've had most of the songs for a few years. I gained them illeg...itimately (cough, cough) back in college. I'll tell you what, college is a breeding ground for kleptomania, be it movie/music piracy or stealing salt shakers from McDonalds. So this is the latest (and biggest) move I've made in legitimizing my music collection. Now all I have to do is buy an iPod.

Why Cowboy Bebop? I only assume you're asking this question because you haven't seen it. This will always be my favorite anime, hands down, no questions asked. One of the biggest reasons is the music. It's a combination of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Pop, Techno, etc. Great soundtrack. Really top-notch. Top five anime? Cowboy Bebop, Tenchi Muyo (all except Shin Tenchi Muyo, a.k.a. Tenchi in Tokyo), Love Hina (even though I feel the manga's better), Excel Saga and Trigun. I know those are all staples of anyone's top, oh say, 100, but these are my favorite. Tenchi and Love Hina are kind of a tie for me though. Technically, I like Love Hina better, but Tenchi was the first anime I really ever got into. Sort of like the first love; even though you may not be with them, you will never forget them.

I think I will end with this note: Has anyone seen The Animatrix? If you haven't, see it. If you have, wouldn't it be cool to do a running series of Star Wars themed animes? You could do the saga; they did it with manga, but imagine the Expanded Universe. If they got some of the top directors and producers of anime, imagine the Thrawn Trilogy. I just think it would be awesome to make a running series of anime movies based on the novels of the Expanded Universe. And if not anime, at least some sort of animation style. Not like Tartakovsky. Now, before you attack me, I LOVE his work. Seriously, Clone Wars was one of the best cartoons ever made in my opinion. It's just that I'd like something a little more adult oriented. Not overly adult though, just not "kid stuff."
