I will never forget seeing the teaser trailer for Episode 1 back in late 1998. Finally the Star Wars saga would continue on the big screen. It was love at first sight for me with The Phantom Menace. After seeing it on opening night I had a sense of frustration that it would be three more years to see how the story would continue in Episode 2. But I also was comforted knowing that there were indeed two more films in our future and all the anticipation and excitement that comes with them.
After several years of wating, Attack of the Clones once again brought forth the Star Wars experience in all its glory. The story had gotten deeper into a place where most fans knew it must go. However there was one piece missing. More waiting of course, but there would be a few more years of anticpation built upon even the smallest bit of Episode 3 news.
Now as tomorrow marks the release of Revenge of the Sith it is once again a time of celebration. But this time is different since the movie's end also brings the story to conclusion. The final piece will be in place. Anakin's transformation to Vader will also change what Star Wars is for us fans.
I have really enjoyed these past several years of excitement and discovery, and I hope you have to. -J
