Emotions. Everyone has emotions. You, me, and all of the people in our world and in a galaxy far far away. What we say and do is based on how we feel.

The Star Wars saga is an epic that is shouldered on emotions. The events that are Star Wars were caused by how the important figures felt.

Anakin was filled to the point of overflowing with emotions. We all know one of the main reasons that Star Wars happened the way it did was because of Anakin's emotions. Anakin's two biggest emotions are Fear and Anger.

Fear

Anakin is always afraid for those that he cares for. Up to the point of obsession. It is understandable that he loved his mom and was hurt when she died in his arms. We really see how afraid Anakin is in two instances. First in TPM. He stands before the council afraid. What if I don't become a Jedi? What if something happens to my mom? What have I done? He is a scared boy and in this we see the biggest mistake of the Jedi Council. They did not try to ease his pain, but instead tell him he should not feel it. Not helpful.

The second time we see his Fear clearly is with Padme. He has haunting dreams and visions about her. He is afraid that he won't be able to save her, like he did his mom. In his fear he becomes vulnerable. Hello Palpatine. Palpatine comes in and uses that fear to secure Anakin's future as a Sith. Later Anakin's completes this by destroying his wife. He did this out of fear. He felt he was losing her ( which he did with his psychoness) and decided that she would have no choice but to stay in his grasp. She did not.

Anger

Anakin's anger does indeed make him strong. But while in his anger he does not think rationally. His anger boils up and consumes and the end result is pure disaster. Sadly the source of Anakin's anger was not directed towards others, but at himself. I should be strong enough to save the ones he loves. Why do I feel so selfish? Why can't I be stronger? Anakin is over judgmental with himself. He truly was his worst enemy. In his own anger Anakin destroyed everything good in his life. Well, almost everything.

Love

But in the end the strongest emotion of all saved him. The love for his wife and for his son.

I could go on about all of the emotions of the saga. But I do have this to say.

Let your emotions guide you, not control you.
