Who's Invincible?
I finally finished Invincible (see what can happen when the school year ends, CDS?) and I've read some other reviews. I have to say I'm remarkably untouched by the ending. Just another day in the GFFA it seems.

Some things I liked: the Verpine (Troy Denning likes his bugs, eh?), Jaina's battle on Nickel One (the second time) and Ben's interaction with Tahiri.

Some things I didn't like: Luke's seeming omnipotence (I like a little fallibility in my heroes, the Mando presence on Nickel One during the Jedi attack (I was confused by the conversation between Luke and Fett. Who used who and why again?) and the lack of resolution to nearly everything except Cadeus' fate. Lastly, as a father of 2 younglings, that 5-10 page span about Allana was nearly unconscionable.

Some things that I think were missing: secondary and tertiary characters and plot points that just kind of disappeared (see my prediction scoring below) including but not limited to: Lando, Wedge, Tycho, Korriban and the Sith there and Niathal (not that I care in the least about her, but she was kind of a big deal there for a while).

So, it looks like I went 2 for 9 on my predictions, #'s 1 and 3. I'm calling that redemption is left to the reader, and that it didn't happen. 6 through 9 are all still viable, that's why I'm excited about Millennium Falcon in December.

Overall, the book goes Half and Half on the milk scale, if only because the action was intense. The series as a whole goes Heavy Cream because it dared to do what really hadn't been done before: serious and permanent changes in the expanded universe (NJO comes close, and the death of Chewie was devastating, but it's hard to miss a character that doesn't get any dialogue).
