Ok. In A New Hope, Luke really doesn't know much about his father. But it seems that he should. I know Owen tries not to reveal anything about Anakin, but here are something that make me think Luke should have figured it out.

1) Anakin was pretty famous. He was the only human being (or at least around those parts) to win a podrace! Wouldn't people (generation before Luke) Be like: "Hey Skywalker. Are you related to Anakin Skywalker? He was the first human beings to win a podrace." That would have gotten Luke interested.

And another question. Why did Luke keep 'Skywalker' as his last name? Wouldn't that be dangerous? I read that Skywalker was a common name, but wouldn't the whole: "Hidden, safe, the children must be kept." thing be pointless if his last name is Skywalker? I guess you could argue: "Well Skywalker is a common name, Vader wouldn't just magicly find Luke." BUT here is another point. He is on Tatooine with family. Hello! If you were Vader, and heard that a kid named Skywalker was living on Tatooine, you might be interested. But when you find out he is with Owen and Beru (Your stepbrother and stepsister in law. lol) You would practicly know he was there.
