Someone just reminded me...
...of a Grievous error in Star Wars Insider. I'll gladly admit if I'm wrong, but I recall reading in the last issue that the Grand Army of the Republic had 3,000,000 troops in it. Excuse me? 3,000,000?? I'm pretty sure Lama Su said "200,000 units are ready, with a million more well on the way," did he not? Doesn't that add up to 1,200,000? I'm pretty sure they didn't cook up 1.8 million more clones that fast, did they?

Well, I was worried about Star Wars Insider from the moment I found out it was being outsourced to Titan. It's become less personal, more commercialized, more like...other fan magazines. Disgusting. They did the same thing to Nintendo Power awhile back, and now you'd be extremely, extremely fortunate if you found a game review that included a map of the first level. I miss those days...

Someone's forum reminded me that I'd meant to blog about that issue. Honestly, I don't even read it like I used to. In the pre-Titan era, I remember finding that I wanted to devour every article, because each one had something awesome in it. Now it doesn't feel the same. Maybe that was because I had more time on my hands or something, but still...ah. I don't want to make a big issue out of that. It's just something I noticed.

Anyway, today's been...I've been distracted. I feel like I didn't get anything done at work. But that's not really true. It's just things are a bit disorganized right now for me.

Ah. But tomorrow is Legacy of the Force: Invincible. I'm disappointed in myself. I haven't finished reading Revelation. I'm a little more than halfway through. I wonder if Niathal gets killed? I hope not. She's pretty awesome, just because I miss Ackbar. Somebody with actual common sense occupying the Chief of State's office has been rare in the EU during this era. Cal Omas went way out of line towards the end, if I recall correctly.

I finally finished a really tough puzzle in Professor Layton and the Curious Village for the Nintendo DS. Wow. I'm glad I saved up my hint coins. That's my all-time favorite DS game, at this point. And if you're wondering, yes, I did that at lunchtime, not while I was working. ;)

Well...not much else going on right now. I'm thinking about Indiana Jones, and yet..."trying not to, kid." It's one of those movies I'm not too worried about. I know it'll be great. I think GL's worried people will hate it like some in the popular media hated on the PT. (Not to mention some of these di'kutla on the blogs, even...) I remember hearing that he said it was going to be more like The Phantom Menace. I can't figure how you'd make Indiana Jones into something like TPM, but...then again, Young Indiana Jones was a bit closer to TPM as far as pacing, I'd say. But Young Indiana Jones is one of the most spectacular series I've ever seen. I'm thoroughly enjoying Volume 3. The Winds of Change was like, one of the greatest TV episodes I've ever seen! That was incredible! I was always intrigued by the politics in the PT, but seeing the politics of the early 20th century was pretty exciting, especially knowing where it led. So I think even if it is slower than say, Raiders was, I don't doubt it'll still be well worth the ticket. Let's not forget that Raiders set a pretty doggone high bar for all the Indy films that followed it. But the sequels held true, in my opinion. I find it unlikely that Lucas, Ford, and Spielberg would come back to do it if the script wasn't up to snuff.

Well...I guess I better go. I've got a meeting in the morning. Can't be late for work or I'll be late for that. So I must go home. May the Force be with you.

Sincerely,
Chris2OneBee
