More with Wicked and Star Wars
For those of you who haven't read Part Uno, here it is. Comments are still open, as always! :D
But after I wrote that entry, I went into Wicked's production book, The Grimmerie, and I thought of some other characters that Wicked and Star Wars have in common. So here we go, again!

Dr. Dillamond
Dr. Dillamond is a goat, but a wise goat. Although he gets killed (in the book, by Madame Morrible), Elphaba looked up to him when he was alive and teaching at Shiz University. Since he was such a powerful character through his short life, I relate him to Yoda. No, Yoda's life was not short (Um, 800-900 years?) but still...
Most people would be like: Why relate a GOAT to YODA, the wisest character in the Star Wars Universe? Because, basically, Dr. Dillamond was the wisest character in Oz. He had his painting in the Shiz library (which is a good thing), and then he taught Elphaba's favorite class, which was her favorite class because he treated Elphaba differently, more equally and saw through her green skin. Yoda saw through Anakin, even though he was "to old to begin the training". He saw that the boy, if trained correctly, could be a great use to the Republic. Same with Dr. Dillamond, Elphaba was very skilled and he saw that. This is why I relate Dr. Dillamond to Yoda.

Madame Morrible
The character of Madame Morrible came across as a sweet ol' teacher who saw Elphaba's magical powers, and treated her equal, not differently. Later, we find out that she was just a minion of the Wizard (who's evil, BTW). She always followed the Wiz's orders, and went only by the "all powerful Oz". I see Count Dooku and Darth Maul as MINIONS of Darth Sidious, not apprentices. They do whatever Sidious wanted, not what they thought would be right for themselves or OTHERS (The Jedi are selfless, remember? Sith AREN'T).
I feel that since at the end Vader turned back because he cared about Luke, who redeemed him, and because he thought for HIMSELF and for OTHERS. He saw his dying boy infront of him, screaming for help. Luke was a PIECE of him, and he never got to enjoy the life of being a father. So, we all know what happens in the end, (for those who are memory challenged here we go) he saved his son by throwing Palpatine over the edge therefore saving his son from the blue sith lightning. I feel that Madame Morrible never did that, that she just did whatever the Wizard wanted her to do. This is why I relate Madame Morrible to one of Darth Sidious's appentices, like Maul or Dooku.

Fiyero
Ah! Fiyero was one of my favorite characters because he represented the Scarecrow, who was my favorite character in the orginal Wizard of Oz. I loved how he went for Elphaba, instead of Glinda. Not that I didn't like Glinda, I just found that he saw Elphaba from the INSIDE, not out. It showed that he cared about love, and in the end (OMG! SPOILERS!!!!) he saves her, and builds a secret hatch for her when she "melts". This touched me, and I thought to myself: "That's real love." Since after that they could never be seen in public, I thought of Star Wars - of course.
Just because Padme and Anakin could never come PUBLIC with their love isn't the reason why I think Fiyero is like Padme. Not only did he display courage to do such a think, he DID have a brain. I loved how the story tried to make us think that he didn't like Elphaba anymore, that he was going to join "the March of the Witch Hunters". Padme has a tremendous amount of courage because she's a politition, and she loved Anakin and accepted that he couldn't be around for long. I know it's a bit strange that I'm comparing a guy to a girl, and a girl to a guy: it just so happens the characters both have so much love and courage squared away in them that they are almost the same. So, Fiyero is therefore like Padme!

SIGH. A long thought process this may be, but I like it. I found shocking stuff in common with my two favorite things, Wicked and Star Wars. I'm happy! :D

Anyway, Comments are open. Feel free to drop me a note from email, too. Thanks! :x :x :x MINIFORCE!
