Well , everyone knows that Anakin Skywalker is the Chosen One , the one destined to bring balance to the Force ( even GL himself has stated that Anakin is the Chosen one , so it isn't Luke) . Many blogs have been written on how he brought balance to the Force and the way the prophecy was fulfilled , this one will contain my thoughts and opinions on it.

My opinion is that Anakin brought balance by destroying the sith . Now generally everyone knows and believes that but some people also think he had to become Vader and annihilate the jedi order for the Force to come into balance . I disagree with that line of thought , my belief is that he simply needed to destroy the sith , not the jedi as well . I think all he needed to do was kill Palpatine when he had the chance ( in his office when Palpatine revealed himself to be a Sith Lord ) and balance would have been brought to the Force much sooner than it eventually was and all would have been well . Someone else ( like Senator Amidala for instance ) could have been elected Supreme Chancellor of the Senate and created peace .

Now here is a theory I have that you may disagree with but please give it a chance .

I think it may be possible that if Mace Windu or Yoda had killed Sidious , whichever one killed Sidious by default would have become the Chosen One , replacing Anakin's role as such ( that is of course providing Anakin hadn't become Vader in the case of Mace killing Sidious and in the case of Yoda killing Sidious Vader being killed by Obi-wan ). Now my theory may be wrong ( I wouldn't be surprised if it was) but is simply a thought I had and was wondering what you all would think of it .
