Obi-Wan Kenobi -

" You were the Chosen One ! It was said you would destroy the sith , not join them ! Bring balance to the Force , not leave it in darkness ."

Anakin Skywalker - " I hate you ! "

Obi-Wan Kenobi - " You were my brother Anakin . I loved you ."

To me , those were the most heart breaking words in the entire SW saga . There are plenty of other heart wrenching scenes but no matter how many times I watch that scene and hear those lines , it still hurts . It still bothers me so much , I cannot help but feel so terrible for Obi-Wan . He spent years training Anakin Skywalker , years teaching him the ways of the jedi and Anakin turned his back on him and the order . Not only did Anakin do that but he destroyed the jedi order , save for a few jedi who managed to survive Order 66 . He had also become Obi-Wan's best friend , Obi-Wan loved him like a brother , in fact they were closer than brothers . And Anakin threw it all away , to save one person , just one , Senator Padme Amidala , who ended up dying anyway , because of the very thing he had done to save her .

Poor , poor Obi-Wan . He did not deserve what he recieved ,all that heart break and pain . He already had plenty of that when Qui-Gon Jinn was killed . He did not need anymore of it and to make matters worse he only trained Anakin because it was Qui-gon's dying wish , which he could hardly refuse . He felt he had failed Anakin and his master , he felt he should have trained Anakin better but he done his best .Sadly it wasn't enough ,but when it came down to it it was Anakin's decision and he made the wrong one , at the expense of Obi-wan and the galaxy .



I think this scene was done incredibly well , kudos to GL for writing it so incredibly well and Ewan McGregor for pulling it off so wonderfully .
