It's just a cartoon, get over it!
Okay, pretty much everyone on this website knows about the Clone Wars cartoons that were on cartoon network. Many people here complain about them, saying they were way too over exaggerated. But you have to realize, it is just a cartoon, so naturally it's exaggerated.

Many of you use Mace Windu destroying a droid army with his bare hands after he lost his lightsaber as a example of how exaggerated it is. Sure, it's exaggerated somewhat but think about it: he was using the Force and the Force grants great power to the user. Plus he was physically strong. When he Force pushes a great number of droids back, many of you complain .But just think: the way the droids were positioned hitting the first row of them with a strong Force push could create a domino effect, knocking the rows behind them down as well. So there , that isn't all that impossible now is it ?:p

So sure , some of the things are indeed exaggerated but it's not that big a deal. After all , cartoon's are almost always exaggerated. How often do you see someone get a piano dropped on them and then see them pop up like a accordion? Never, because it is physically impossible for that to happen. I highly doubt when you watch Looney Toons and Scooby Doo that you sit there pointing out everything that shouldn't be possible, so why do it for a Star Wars cartoon? ?:|

The only reason I can think of is that you hold a Star Wars cartoon to a higher standard of quality. You expect it to be perfect simply because it is SW. I'm sorry, but SW is not entirely perfect. Sure, the story is amazing and because of that we love it. But it is not without it's errors and plot holes. I myself don't really care about plot holes, its the story that matters.

The Clone Wars cartoons were created to show us what happened between AOTC and ROTS. I feel it did a good job of that and I enjoy them very much. Yes, there is Clone Wars novels and I enjoy those alot also. But sometimes I'd prefer to see the action with my own eyes and the cartoons allow you to do that.

And yes, I have heard that some of the events in Clone Wars volume 2 contradict what happens in Labyrinth of Evil ( I wouldn't know, as I haven't read LOE yet. ) but come on, give it a break. Just because it contradicts a few things does not mean it is a " Continuity nightmare" , as some of you have called it. And really, SW is just a figment of GL's imagination that we happen to be obsessed with, none of that stuff really happened so we shouldn't make that big a deal about a few contradictions. Sure, sometimes I get a little nit-picky about some things, such as Palpatine coming back in a EU novel as a clone, who doesn't? But my point is, let's not take this too seriously, all this is just for our enjoyment.

Also, SW is GL's universe, to do with what he wishes. If he wants things to go one way and you want it to go another, too bad, it's not your universe, it's his:p . His word is law in the SW universe. If you want to pretend something happened in SW that didn't, by all means, knock yourself out. If you want to make up your own character for the SW universe and write a story about it, go ahead, give it your best shot. Maybe someday you can find a way for Lucasart's to read it and and get it approved. But even if that never happens, it is fun to write your own stories and many people enjoy reading fan fiction, I do in some cases.:)

Wow, I didn't mean to ramble on this long, lol. Well, the point is when you watch the Clone Wars cartoons, try not to be too critical, if you do you're taking the fun out of watching it for yourself. If you want to do that, go ahead, be my guest. But as for me, I enjoy those cartoons quite a bit and can't wait until they make more of them. I love Clone Wars novels and the cartoons, I find that timeline quite interesting. I highly recommend the Clone Wars novel's, they are wonderful editions to the EU, as are the Clone Wars cartoons.

I hope you've enjoyed this blog and as always, comments are appreciated.:D

You're right. I say the same sort of thing to people who pick holes in things. It's not real, get over it. By the way, I just want to say that Obi-Wan Kenobi is the GREATEST jedi ever. 'Nuff said.

I agree: they are cartoons; nothing more. Try to keep your complaints to yourself.

I also agree with you on this - mostly. I think that we all would have enjoyed a different animation style - more japanese perhaps? But if they did put more more money into the animation we may have ended up with fewer episodes (everything has a budget). Given the choice between less episodes and better animation or more episodes and not as good animation - I choose more episodes. Still the clone wars were solid. And who knows, maybe there will be some bigger animation projects down the line...

Well blogged, shatterpoint. You don't know the countless number of folk that sit there and intently dissect the cartoon series like their life depended on it. They just can't accept that they should just simply sit back, enjoy the series and let their imaginations take them away.......or is that Calgon?:p

What makes me laugh when people say the cartoons are exaggerated is this thought in my head- and the movies aren't exaggerated? Puh-leez! People shooting lighting out of there hands? A Zen-spouting Muppet? An alien that looks like a senior Marlon Brando smoking a hookah who has a stripper with six breasts?

They could do that stuff in the movies but they don't have the technology.

LOL!! Thank you. It is an obsession with so many of us. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one obsessed.

I haven't seen the cartoons. I've been afraid to watch them. I expect I will be one of the viewers who will be nit-picky. It's just that I have these wonderful images in my head from the movies and when conflicting images rub up against them it's unsettling. I've even been wondering if I could just *listen* to the cartoons but not look at them.

I think wher'e all obsessed for wasting our time discussing day and night plot errors, possible sequels, video games, books, and everything else imaginable for six movies.

Well I agree. Though I'm glad they put most of the second Clone Wars cartoon series form LOE. That was a really great book and I like how the CIS attacked Coruscant and now you get to see more then just Obi-Wan and Anakin flying and then reaching Invisible Hand. You catch my drift?

I just want you to know that I agree with you whole heartedly.

Especially about Mace. He was supposed to be the most powerful Jedi outside of Yoda. We didn't really get to see him do that much.. So, I think that Genndy and crew saw this as an opportunity to show Mace kickin' some tin-butt.

I've read and heard that GL was a fan Volume One of the Clone Wars, and that's why there was even a Volume Two.
Which means he must have enjoyed Mace kickin' Battle Droid butt.

As far as cartoon exaggeration goes, CW stayed in line. If they really wanted to exaggerate they could make it like Itchy and Scratchy or its real life counterpart Barbwire Biscuit.( which is extreme. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!!);)

Oh , most definitely , lol , hehe , I meant to put something like that in this blog but I forgot, lol . The reason they had Mace look so strong is because he is very powerful , they exaggerated it to get the point across , IMO.

Tiawyn : I would give them a shot if I were you, I only saw them a few months ago and I was afraid I wouldn't like them but I absolutely loved them :D

Thanks for the comments everyone . :D

People should learn tolerance.

Hey shatter, last week i read Shatterpoint again.
Mace's unarmed fight against Kar Vastor convinced me that
Mace couldnt defeat Sidious.

Kar and Sidious shared the same ability: The more they suffer,
the more powerful they become. In the fight Kar became so powerful
that he defeat Mace fair and square; so i believe even if Sidious didnt
fake, his lightning would intensify and eventually overcome Mace's blade.

Both Kar Vastor and Sidious used the concept of Vaapad in their fight.

Darth Kevinmhk : Hmmm, I still believe he won, after all, Mace knew before he fought Kar unarmed he couldn't beat him. If he had used his lightsaber he most likely could have defeated Kar. I am convinced Mace was strong enough to fight Sidious and win. Hmmm, this could make a good blog topic, perhaps I will write one on this sometime in the future.

P.S. Hehe, I'm still planning to write a blog on Mace but I haven't reread Shatterpoint yet recently ( not all of it anyway , sometimes I just go through a few specific parts) though I've been working on the ROTS novel again. I'm hoping to get to it sometime soon.

Blue leader46 : I'm sorry but I'm deleting your comments, it's fine if you happen to not like the cartoon but it wasn't necessary to swear.

Anyways, I did not find it stupid, you can't expect a cartoon to be really realistic because it's not real and especially a SW cartoon.

i have re-read EP3 many many times~
But only once for Shatterpoint

"If he and I had gone at it blade to shield, I would be dead now -
even if I'd killed him, the guards and the dogs would have torn me to shreds."

Seems Mace (blade) VS Kar (shield), to our beloved Jedi Master,
the possibility of death is higher~

Anyway enjoy your reading and take your time to write the blog!

Nice blog. I think people expect the clone wars cartoon to be more realistic because the movies are, and I guess people expect like an animated version of the movies, rather than an entirely new thing. I was a bit baffled by Mace Widnu's amazingly powerful force push too. I don't see how Mace can punch through metal so easily, like the SBDs.
