Wow
Something very shocking has happened today at the World Figure Skating Championships. A girl I used to be in the same figure skating club with, Kimmie Meissner of Bel Air, Md, has won the World title, beating the overwhelming favorite, US champion and Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen ( who finished in third overall). Kimmie's long program was amazing tonight, her total for that program was higher than the total of the winning long program at the Olympic Games ( where she finished 6th). She landed seven triple jumps, including two triple-triple combinations and she did two beautiful double axels, one of them as a double axel- double toe loop- double loop combination. And did I mention this is her first senior level World Championships? And that last year she qualified for Worlds but was too young to go at 15? And that she was the first american woman to do a triple axel in competition in about thirteen years? ( Okay, okay, I'll stop now, lol. ;) )

She is a great athlete and a very nice girl, not a diva at all and I am very happy that she won this title, it's a huge accomplishment. She is also quite modest, I read in a article she didn't even expect to medal this year at Worlds. I am quite proud of her and am glad that such a nice girl managed to win such a important title. :) Her performance was simply magnificent, the best I have ever seen her skate and she earned a personal best in the long program with a score of 129.70, one of the best scores for a female skater that has ever been recorded.

You can find more details about the World Figure Skating Championships at www.usfigureskating.org :)

Congratulations Kimmie Meissner, you truly deserved this World title. :D

Sorry that this is a relatively short entry but I was just so excited and wanted to share this with you all. :)

( Btw, I chose this picture of Queen Amidala because Kimmie Meissner is now queen of the figure skating world now and she happened to skate to the Queen of Sheba ;) )

Thank you for reading this blog and comments are appreciated. :)

It is a small world. I have an example from my own life. I used to live in Downey which is Los Angeles until about a year and a half ago, and this year my 10th Grade Geometery teacher taught at the same town I came from. He taught at Warren High School and I was going to go to Downey High School.

Bakersfield sucks, it has really ruined my life. I left all my friends and all my family.
Please guys pray for me to go back to Downey very soon, to move back permanently.

I knew you loved to watch skating, but I didn't know that you skate as well. Cool! I did hear about her winning... pretty awesome! B-)

Well, I used to skate until we couldn't afford it anymore, I do miss it. :( I might be able to start back up again though hopefully. :) Also, in response to your comment in my other blog, my school is going ok, still not good enough yet for the pug though, but I'm working on it. :)

Hi! I followed the link from when you posted in my blog about Christianity in ROTS. I too am a huge figure skating fan!! I think Kimmie did a great job as well, and she seems like such a nice girl. It's so cool that you used to be in her club! I have never taken figure skating lessons but have always wished to. Maybe someday!
