 As some of you know, I live in Norway, that's nice and all, but a lot of the TV shows from the US don't get aired over here. To watch the Clone Wars, I'm relying on one of the local TV networks to purchase the show from whoever has the rights to sell it. And only the most popular shows end up on Norwegian television.
I don't know how popular the show is in the US, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Even if the show ends up on Norwegian TV, it probably won't be for a few months, and probably on the Scandinavian version of Cartoon Network, dubbed naturally. (I would like to watch it with the original voice cast)
I found out that the Clone Wars series is available on SW.com. At first I got really excited, but when I tried to watch it I get this message: "The content you are trying to view is only available in certain areas."
To annoy me even further, I had to watch some commercial about a cell phone first, the commercial, apparently, was available.
I think this sucks! I'm a paying member of the official SW fan club, they upload the movies, but I'm not able to watch them!
There are two possible reasons for this that I can think of.
A: The system is unable to stream the videos over seas.
B: The federal copyright laws of the US does not extend beyond their boarders, so the producers don't allow the show to viewed (and possibly illegally copied) outside the borders.
Because of the commercial that I was able to see, I'm guessing the latter. This is annoying because I'm a huge SW fan, and a member of Hyperspace, but I'm still not able to watch the Clone Wars series. I almost feel like SW.com is giving me the finger.
I guess I have to wait until I can by the first season, and when is the first season going to be available in stores?
Also, I'm probably going to have the same problems with the Live Action series as well

What a coincidence... I just posted a blog about this exact same thing! I thought my situation was bad, having to wait 3 days, but I feel so bad for you...that's ridiculous!
I don't get why they're not letting non-US citizens see them online. I could be in the States in like an hour... what's the big difference?!
I hope you find a way to see them (*nudges and whispers*YouTube and the internet are wonderful things*)

It really is ridiculous, and in this age of technology and instant communication, you'd think they could do better.

Jeg er også fra Norge, og har ikke hatt noen problemer med å se episodene, verken på starwars.com eller cartoonnetwork.com. Har du prøvd cartoonnetwork.com?

Jeg hadde tenkt å inkludere en haug med norske banneord for moro skyld, (de nynorske er best, "forbanna hæstkukka"), siden de ikke blir sensurert.
I was thinking about including a bunch of norwegian curse words for fun sake, (censored), since they do not get censored.
Did you try cartoonnetwork.com?

Hei, ikke bekymre deg for meg iallfall. Nå er vel gjerne ikke det ordet du skrev typisk nynorsk, men heller nordnorsk). Men ja, for all del, fyr løs (på Norsk).
Hey, don't worry about me anyhow. I don't think the censored word you wrote is really nynorsk (formalized written language) though, but more northern Norwegian (dialect variant). But yeah, by all means, fire away (in Norwegian).

And cartoonnetwork didn't work? That's weird. I'm based on the west coast of Norway, Bergen more particularly. Don't see why there should be individual differences in streaming/file transfers within a country like that.

I live in Oslo, so maybe you stream of a UK server... I'm not sure how the system works. I can watch trailers and such, maybe I'm unable to watch videos of a certain size.

Actually, no, I'm not a stereotypical Bergen-inhabitant, that is bigmouthed. I'm not from Bergen originally, I just live there in my current predicament as a student. There are indeed many nice and pleasant people from Bergen, but I'm not one to kill other people's stereotypes...

I feel your pain, I live in the UK.. I can't watch on the cartoon network either and I found out today that the series is going to be shown on Sky movies, a subscription movie channel 
Why can't I watch on sw.com???? I pay my hyperspace membership. i actually pay more for being overseas, so why not?

Yes, it's really unfair not being able to watch the show. Copyright laws in the US get so annoying! The system can surely stream overseas, every other video works fine enough for me but just not the episodes. The majority of the world simply and patiently has to wait the long year or two for the DVD's, and watch every other blogger blog about them. If that's possible. 
Great to see another Norðanmann here! Jeg besogerde Norge i sommer på norröna. Og ja - min scandinavisk er dårlig.
