 | Movie mistake! |
I have made a discovery! Not really, two actually. First, I was watching ESB for the 285th time, and then I noticed something odd. In the scene where Han is frozen in carbonite, you see that his hands are handcuffed, but after the freezing is done, his hands reach out in agony. How could he do this if his hands were handcuffed?
The other discovery I made is not surprising, this one is about another change GL made for the DVD release of the OT. Temuera Morrison (AKA Jango Fett) is the new voice for Boba Fett. It sounds like he's trying to hide his New Zealand accent but he didn't fool me. Alright, he did, it was my brother who pointed that out.
I have also figured out why we never see R2s rockets in the OT. Captain Antilles swapped them for beer dispensers. You never know when you could use a cold beer.
And finally, since Stooge has gone fishin, I have made a joke in his absence:
What's the Jedi's favorite liquor?
Jägermaster!

Yeah, that was definitely a goof. There are different theories as to what happened to them (in universe). Maybe when he was lowered, some sort of device down in the chamber removed them.

 Definitely worth it!

Good one!

Don't the ugnaughts take the cuffs off before he is lowered in? That's what I always assumed.

Too true... perhaps in his 'last moments" he summoned his inner strength and broke the cuffs. (or, more likely, it was just a screw-up.)
Good observations! (and joke!) MTFBWY, A!

*gasp!* Only 285 times?!
but after the freezing is done, his hands reach out in agony.
That's a good point. Maybe the carbonite freezing disrupted the metal in the cuffs, but didn't do anything to Han?

With Darth Vader running the galaxy, I wouldn't be suprised. Everybody needed a beer.
Jägermaster!
 Nice!!

I've always wondered the exact thing!

In any case, the freezing process was over so quickly, I doubt that he would have time to raise his hands. Also, to me it seems natural to protect my crotch if I was in a similar situation.
Definitely worth it!
No doubt there.

Thanks!
I personally never liked licorice, so for me that stuff is awfull
Too much always makes me puke, but here's a fun fact, Jägermeister was first invented as cough medicine, and it actually works. So drinking lots of it is technically drug abuse. Especially if you don't have a cough.

most likely nobody ever noticed before
I've seen it mentioned about 285 times, so yeah, someone noticed. But no one's every come up with an explantion. Unless the carbon freezing shattered the handcuffs.

Well, there is this adage about not fooling an old dog . . . (no, I'm not getting it mixed up with teaching an old dog new tricks. Well, there's that, too. )
What's the Jedi's favorite liquor?

Yes.... I'll go stand in the corner, to think about what I've done....
not fooling an old dog
I think the expression is with a fox. But these things vary from country to country.
Good one, lh!
Thanks

Actually, I've heard a very good explanation--the cuffs were made of carbonite, so when they entered the carbon-freezing chamber, they melted with the rest of the carbonite, which freed Han's hands until the carbonite hardened, trapping Han with his hands protecting his face.

That is plausible, but I still think they made up the reason after they released the movie. Like kicking a football, missing the goal, and then tell everyone you meant to do that.
