 | Star Wars Mercenaries |
 I was thinking of some ideas for cool new Star Wars Video Games. I thought about a game just like Mercenaries except set in the Star Wars Universe.
I kept going with this and what u do is you play as a Mercenary. You can pick one of 3 characters. A ex-Jedi, a smartmouth droid (kind of like HK-47) and my personal favorite a Mandalorian. You start off near the end of the clone wars and you get to pick who you work for (if u pick the Republic the Sepertist are ALWAYS hostil and visa-versa.) Then there are a few other factions like the Hutts and or Black Sun. You get a deck of Sabracc cards that has the names and faces off all enemy commanders and you hunt them down while doing side jobs for all the other factions. When you get half way through the game Order 66 is enacted. This is when you get to choose if u want to fight for the Rebals or the Empire. How u decide is kind of like a KOTOR thing were a Jedi comes up to u and asked for help to get escape death. You can choose either to hide him (making you side with the rebals) or kill him and turn his body over to the new empire for credits (making you side with the empire.) Now the game continues if u work for the rebals you go after Imperial Agents and Dark Jedi if u work for the empire u go after Rebals and Jedi. It would be all in that 3rd person mode and u can still drive/fly anything. There would be a few different planets you would have to journey to and a few space dog fights along the way. I would def buy this game.

I think this is pretty cool, I definately like the RPG part, and choosing your own destiny, except there are only a few flaws. Besides these it sounds pretty tight. I like the pick a character and definately the Mandalorian part excpet there aren't any Mandalorians around in this time period, but I guess there could be background stories to choose from depending on each character. And as well you can't hunt down Dark Jedi because besides Sidious and Vader there aren't any because Vader never took on the roll of Master and try to train anyone. But besides these little things and I would buy this game definately.

This idea is cool. I would buy the game. but I think there more than three characters to choose from. Also you be able to make your character if you want too.

well...rebels is spelled rebels.....but that would be cool.....PSM[playstation magazine)my bible] gave mercenarys a great score...so if Lucasarts could pull it off again it would rock...I never got to play it(my parents did not like the idea) but I reeeeeeeally wanted to...sounds like the good idea....I like it....but OOOO! mayb throw in Fixer from republic Commando to blow things up....just for the cool explosions and funny remarks

great idea, but it would be more logical to start from the bounty hunters guild (exops) and run around takin bounties (cards). You have the options to allie yerself with whomever, 'cept 1 certain faction (like N. Korea), but that should depend on yur character.
And fix the damn polygon problems in mercs, i sick of my apc flying, or getting put of a tank and inside a rock

1st off there are Mandalorians during the Clone Wars they were started up by a Awall Clone ARC who gained memories of Jango Fett and believed that it was his destiny to to restart the Madalorians. They fought on the side of the Sepertist and helped the Sepertist forces in many a battle.
2nd there were dark Jedi during all times periods of star wars. Dark jedi are different from sith.

I have been pondering on an idea like this for a while now. But i think this game(if it were made) shud be set in the Old Republic during the Revan/Malak era because during this era it was a total war of the Republic/Jedi versus the Sith, the Mandalorians were plentiful as pirates and merceneries, there was a lot of bounty hunting going on with many societies such as the Genhorodean etc.

The game shud let u start out by creating your own bounty hunter and deciding upon his race e.g.Mandalorian,Trandashonian, and then you cud choose armour and weaponary based on their race and start the game on Tatooine or somewhere with a sidekick(wookie, togarian, rodian) working for a Hutt bringing in Anchorhead bringing in bounties for the Hutt or local authorities and then something big happens like in KOTOR where the Sith and the Republic start recruiting bounty hunters.

Then you decide to join up with one of them and do numerous missions for them. Also you cud just become a pure pirate or something and join up with a renegade band og Mandalorians raiding villages etc. GOd i have so much ideas on this i can t type em all down.............................

If any1 wants this fantastic game idea to be taken seriously ia say we join together(good and evil) and pool our ideas and then seriuosly approach LucasArts and show them our idea and tell them there is a massive market and demand for a game such as this....................Any takers.........First five people on team....no more

Really good idea, i mean it would have to be along the lines of KotOR in the sense that you can choose what your character would look like and what race you would be (something I believe that KotOR should have had). But the vast scale of the game is overwhelming i mean could you fit all of this stuff on a dvd or would it have to come out for next gen systems, heck even a high end computer?

But instead of the ex-jedi sort of thing, since the jedi order would'nt really let that happen, maybe being a force adept that learns things over the period of the game kinda like KotOR. Downside to that would be that everyone would be playing as that choice since who would you rather be a guy that uses guns or a guy that jumps around with the force and uses a lightsaber?

well there would be different special abilites for each class like the ex-jedi could force jump but the downside 2 him would that he could be killed easily and the mandalorian could take alot of punishment but cant move as fast or as stealthy.

basicly, its like the Bounty Hunter game, mixed w/ star wars galaxies, RPG, and you can customize your character. actually they have that in the star wars galaxies game, but i dont know what the gameplay is like. but that would be awsome if they did an expansive bounty hunter game for all consoles. they should make it to where you can be fallen jedi, smuggler, or bounty hunter. and each class you can customize character apperance and weapons. and for the bounty hunter or smuggler you can choose to be a droid like IG-88 or something else. but you know they probably wouldnt make that game because like i said they already have that in starwars galaxies.
