 | I can see it again! |
Woohoo! Just when I thought that Ep III was no longer in theaters, I discover just how wrong I am! Last Friday night I went to see Batman Begins (again) at a new theater in downtown Chicago. To my surprise, I notice that theater 6 (I think it was), was showing Ep III! Hmmm...now let me tell you, the thought of sneaking into the movie (which started just as Batman was ending) did indeed cross my mind. See, this was a rite of passage I missed in my teens (one of the many, and perhaps not so regrettably) so it seemed to make sense to seize the day and go see Ep III before it leaves theaters forever. Well, by the time Batman was ending, I was more than eager to leave the theater. Not to let this turn into a review, but the second viewing bored me, even though I LOVED it the first time. I really did! The second time around, not so much. Don't know why, and whatever the reasons, it's besides the point. Watching Ep III over and over, on the other hand, is like a treat each time...it's like Christmas or Halloween or my birthday again and again. So...this week, when I go see it, and pay for a ticket, it'll be a treat, a present to moi...and I can't wait!

CC..
Star Wars.. The Gift that Keeps on Giving the Whole Year Through..
Happy Birthday!
I have to agree, few movies have the replay ability..that Star Wars has..
I have to admit.. Each time I watched it I came away with a "new" point of view..
I found myself watching from Obi's, Ani's, Padi, Yoda, Palpy, and Mace's Point of View.., I watched it as a stand alone piece, as part of the Prequel, and as part of the saga as a whole.. or listening to the soundtrack..
The easter egg hunt.. is fun.. but you miss great parts of the movie...
For Example..LOTR you can watch as parts of a whole..
Batman.. while good movie.. are single pieces..
enjoy your show..

I know how you feel... just when I thought the theater experience was over, there was Ep III
at A cinema 36 miles away. So after work, I treated myself to the saga again. It was the best because 80 other folks had the same idea that I did.
This was my 8th time seeing it... was it the last, probably not.

Hi, I know how you feel. When I saw War of the Worlds, I thought is was so great, I wanted to see it again. The second time was just dull. However, I have seen SW episode III too many times to count ( maybe >45). I never get tired of seeing it. I can quote all of the lines and know what scenes are coming, etc.... Anyway, now, I have to travel about 45 minutes to see it at a theatre near me. I want to see it on the big screen as long as I can. I am planning to see it a few more times before it leaves the theatres all together. I never get tired of watching any of the SWs films, reading their books, or listening to John Williams SWs music. Of course my Episode III DVD is ordered.
