Use the Crayon, Luke.

Ani and Obi Wan, no Han and Luke, but close.
Even as I watch the OT for the gazillionth time, I pause to reflect on Han and Luke. Well, I hit the pause button to admire Han and Luke. After all, it's more than a girls heart can take to watch Han Solo evolve from rugged smuggler into ...well, rugged smuggler with a soft side. Even Luke, just a farmboy with the potential for hotness in Episode 4, transforms slowly through all 3 episodes into a nice dish of eye candy with an attractive quality found only in those who have a story to tell and know how to tell it.

Along comes Episode 1. Ok, admit it. Maybe there was some teeny tiny expectation that we'd get another handsome, sweep 'em off their feet, swashbuckling leading man but when we finally meet him, he turns out to be a 9 year old boy! Darn those expectations!

By Episode II, though physically grown, Ani is still child-like and technically still a teen, making it difficult for anyone of the female persuasion who grew up with the OT to ever get lost in those potentially sultry eyes, try as we might. And while one cannot argue that Obi Ewan (no disrespect to Sir Alec who I'm sure was also a looker in his day) is lovely with those knowing, blue eyes, he's not exactly a wink and grin kind of hero like Han Solo. Patience, I tell myself.

Finally, Episode III! Anakin exudes a bad boy appeal that makes you want to save him from the hell-path you know he's on. He reminds me how simple it was to fall for the hot guy with loads of potential going nowhere fast. And while he might not have a cool ship that can make the jump to light speed, he looks awfully good in black. And Obi Ewan, I finally realize, is sexy after all, Why? He's displays an irresistible trait - a sense of humor, something not seen in these characters in the previous 2 movies. And like Luke at the end of Jedi, he's older, wiser, and you know that he can get himself out of a jam with a wink and a grin. That's gotta count for something, and it does in my book.
