They've succeeded....
They've done it. I don't know how, but they managed it. Maybe it was the food, maybe the tea, or maybe just me. But here is my tragic story:

About a year ago, I moved to the U.K. from the U.S. It's been a good year. (Honestly, Britain's a great country. But this is scary!) Then the changes began... first, I started picking up the lingo. (E.g. trousers, toe-mat-oh, etc.)
Big deal. that can be expected living in a new country.

Then my style started changing... ever so slightly. But still, it changed.

Next, I started guzzling tea by the gallon.I've always liked it, but this was like... an addiction. Weird....

just today, I was at a list of smilies carrying flags... and become infuriated when they didn't have a Union Jack! Since when did I care about whether there was a Union Jack or not!?

My conclusion is this, my friends: I'm turning British. My American patriotism is leeched out. I'm transforming, and near completion, too.

I'm afraid if I wait much longer, it'll be to late for me. I must resist! Use American phrases! Eat American foods! But will it help? Is it futile?

Help me, Uncle Sam. you're my only hope...

Start drinking sweet iced tea. The United States--supposedly, according to the History Channel--that enjoys their tea iced and sweet tea is a delicious of the South, so that's like--"I'm an American--in your face!"

Join ussssssss.......

Hey, I'm a Brit living Yankie-side - and I've gone a bit John Wayne meself.

I now say pants instead of trousers, which is confusing when I go back home, and I say 'd's instead of 't's when asking for a boddle a warder (Evian being my prefered kind).

I'm even growing my arse to an astronomical size - it helps me blend in ;)

Glad you are having fun in dear old blighty :)

I have a solution..

Switch to black, so-strong-it-pours-itself coffee. That will return you to your former American state. ;) Dump that wimpy stuff.. Tea is weak coffee, and to think that they can't even handle that! They have to drown it in sugar & milk. :p

More Scottish, actually, but same idea...

However, a Star Destroyer full of Scots would be an interesting thing to see...

Since you're going native here in Scotland, do you have an opinion on independence at all? Just curious.

Well, you could buy a big three-by-five foot American flag and hang it up in your window.... :D

Good question... I'd like to stay out of it for the most part, but maybe you could use it....

You're making it sound like its a bad thing.

Well maybe it is.

Since you're going native here in Scotland, do you have an opinion on independence at all? Just curious.

I got no time for Jocks who think like that.
