New BigDog Robot Footage, Complete With Parody
I'm a big fan of the creepy BigDog "robotic mule."

Now, two years later, new footage has been released. It's more amazing and even creepier than ever. Watch for the part where it tries to walk on ice like Bambi on a frozen lake.

That will put you in the right frame of mind for this parody, which is accurately labeled "so stupid it's hilarious."

WOW. That's a riot.

I just have to say that watching the real video of BigDog walk around is an extremely unnerving experience. I realize it's an inanimate robot and all, but it just looks so...pathetic. And that high-pitched whining sound is just sad. I almost want to put it on a leash and take it home.

It raises and interesting question; will robots one day be intelligent enough to decide that they don't want to be forced to carry our bags?

I've watched the real video in awe, and agree that it is extremely unnerving... It really looks kinda spooky and somehow reminds me of ED-.... of the Robocop movies...

I saw the video yesterday and I haven't been able to sleep since (my daughter being ill and crying all night long might have had been responsible, too), but the parody is exactly what I thought when I saw the video, a creepy pair of men cut off from the waist up!

It's awesome techology, but it needs some tweaking as not to be that disgusting, a simple horse-head in one end might be enough!

I remember when you posted that first video of the "robotic mule"... and I see it's just as creepy as it used to be. But that parody was great!

a simple horse-head in one end might be enough!
I agree--that wouldn't be so hard, would it?
